Thank you Montgomery Families for all of your support! As you may have heard, Montgomery Elementary School was named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School! This is an amazing honor which was awarded to only 15 other schools in Ohio. The award is a reflection of the high academic achievement and enthusiasm of our students, the passion and devotion of our staff, and the commitment of our families. It is an honor to be able to represent Montgomery Elementary in Washington DC this fall along with Mrs. Furlong, who will be accompanying me.
Best,
Amy

ATTENDANCE LINE
If you have a student who will be missing school due to illness or tardy due to a doctor/dentist appointment, please remember to call our attendance line at 513-686-1736 before 10am to report your child's absence. If you are calling in an illness, we also encourage parents to assess their child before sending them to school with our Daily Healthy Aves checklist. If you are in doubt on whether or not your student should attend school,
please call 513-686-1707.
To Parents and Guardians,
Vision and hearing screenings will be administered on September 29, October 8, 13, 25 and 27 to students in kindergarten, first, and third grade as required by state law. Vision screening will consist of distance visual acuity, binocular vision, and color vision for kindergarten and first grade. Third grade vision screening will consist of distance visual acuity. The hearing screening will consist of an audiometry for kindergarten, first and third grade.
If your child does not pass the vision or hearing screening, the school nurse will send a letter to share the results and make a recommendation for further evaluation by an eye care specialist or audiologist.
A vision and hearing screening only provides a snapshot of how your child performs on the day the screening was administered and is not a substitute for a complete vision and hearing evaluation by an eye specialist or audiologist.
If you have any questions about the school vision and hearing screening program, please call Susan Linton, Montgomery Elementary School Nurse at 686-1733 or email lintons@sycamoreschools.org.
Thank you.
On Wednesday, September 29 from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., the Sycamore Schools PTOs will present a virtual Candidates Forum that will be live broadcast via Sycamore Schools Youtube page. We have elected to host the event virtually to grant all candidates and viewers the same opportunity to attend. Please be aware that there will be no audience participation due to the number of candidates and time constraints. Candidate contact information, links, and material will be presented at the time of the forum.
Each candidate in attendance will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and speak about their campaign. There will then be a period for each of the candidates to answer the most common questions received by the PTOs. Questions can be submitted until midnight on Friday, September 24. Please follow this link to submit a question. All candidates will have an opportunity for a closing statement following the question and answer session. For those who cannot attend the live feed, a recording will be available for future viewing.
Please check the Montgomery PTO homepage for Membership, Volunteer opportunities, and important updates - including those related to the candidates forum.

There is no charge for admission to the concerts, but the Arts Commission suggests a donation of $5 per adult at the door to help defray the cost of the events.
