GAYMAN PUMPKIN FEST 2023
Get Ready for Gayman’s ANNUAL Pumpkin Patch in the Library!
Each October, we love to put our students’ and families’ creativity on display by creating a pumpkin patch in the library. All students and families are invited to work individually or as a team to create a pumpkin at home to bring in to share for this year’s patch. Please DO NOT carve pumpkins—they will rot in our warm library!
All the information needed—including drop off procedure for October 24 and pick up procedures for October 31 are outlined in our flier (which will also be sent home with students).
Questions!? Contact Mrs. Thomas at the library: hthomas@cbsd.org 267 893-4300 x4358
HALLOWEEN PARADE ROUTE
The Halloween parade will be on Tuesday, October 31st at 9:00AM. Parking will be limited. If possible, please consider carpooling. (Rain date: Wednesday, Nov. 1st. If the parade is postponed, the decision will be made by 4:00PM on Monday and communicated via email.)
Students will walk out of the front building (near the flagpole) and parade on our sidewalk around the school. After reaching Burnt House Hill Road, they will turn and walk to the back playground and re-enter the building by the gymnasium. NOTE: We will walk the parade route twice.
Kindergarten students will lead the parade, followed consecutively by the other grades.
Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school. Please have your child bring their masks and/or accessories to school in a bag with your child's name on the bag. Please use your best judgement in costume selection. Costumes of a violent nature are discouraged. There should be no weapons of any kind brought to school on Halloween.
KINDERGARTEN PARADE PLANS
October 31st is a half-day of school. PM kindergarten attends.
All AM Kindergarten students are invited to participate in the outdoor parade. Please bring your child to the entrance under the large Gayman Elementary School sign, in front of the school, by 8:45AM. Mrs. Feher will bring the AM class to Mrs. Menard's room where they will lead the parade. Please pick up your child after the parade at the drop-off location.

VETERAN GUEST SPEAKERS: NOV. 10TH
To mark this special day, we are hosting "Veteran Class Speakers". Any veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, is invited to speak to a class. The time of the presentation will be determined by the teacher and speaker.
A 20-minute presentation would include:
- A description of your military job/responsibilities
- A favorite memory from your service
- Questions from the students
Our hope is for every class to have a speaker, please let us know if you are able to do more than one presentation. NOTE: While we will make every effort to match you with your child's (grandchild's) class, you may be speaking to a different class.
Email Jennifer Costello at jcostello@cbsd.org, if you are interested before November 3rd.
To all of our veterans - thank you for your service!
GHSA FAMILY DUES EXTENDED
We have extended the due date for family dues until October 27th. At this time we have received about half of our budgeted amount for the year so we have extended the deadline to October 27th.
We are suggesting $30 per family. You can venmo @Gayman-HomeandSchool or send a check in made payable to GHSA!
These funds help cover the cost of all the GHSA events and programs! Our next BIG event is the FALL FAMILY FEST and these donations will be used to host this event. And these donations are used for so many other fun things for all kids; Bingo, Dance, Library Technology, Author's Day, Assemblies, and so much more!
FALL FESTIVAL
Let's have some family fall fun on Friday, October 27th (5pm -7pm)! This is a free entry family event that will have music, games, activities, an outdoor movie, balloons, hot chocolate, and snacks! There will also be raffle basket tickets (cash or venmo only please!)! We need your help to make this event a success.
- RSVP Here By 10/21 (We need a headcount for games, prizes and activities.)
- CLICK HERE to volunteer or donate an item!
SILENT AUCTION AT THE FALL FEST
GHSA will be hosting a Silent Auction during the Fall Festival. We would be grateful if your family and/or business—or friends and businesses you know and patronize—would consider donating an experience, service, item or gift certificate to the GHSA Silent Auction. Each donor will be acknowledged at the event with a table card next to their donation item. For businesses, this is a wonderful opportunity to generate awareness for products or services.
No donation is too small and no idea is too big! Gayman Home and School Association is a non-profit organization, so your donation will be tax deductible up to the amount allowed by law. Please click the Google Form link below to submit your donation write-up to GHSA.
