Quote of the week
"What we know matters but who we are matters more.”-Brene Brown
From Mr. Wingfield
Last week we had a very positive and productive week back! Our basketball teams had a successful night playing Mumford on Thursday and then had a great tournament in Centerville on Saturday. This week they all play at home on Thursday vs Iola beginning at 4:30.
With the ice this week we will have some changes with our HS basketball schedule. Games for today vs Burton have been rescheduled for Wednesday. These games will be Varsity only and will begin with the girls at 5:00 in Burton. Where are no other changes at this time. Both boy's and girl's basketball play Somerville at home on Friday beginning at 5:00.
Any 6th or 7th grade students interested in trying out for cheer or mascot can come sign up in the office and pick up a packet. The packet should answer any questions, but feel free to contact Coach Biddle if you need any other clarification. The deadline for sign ups is January 19th.
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.

January is School Board Appreciation Month
I just want to give a quick shout out to our school board. I have worked in several school districts and I can honestly say that the NISD School Board is one of the best I have worked with. They truly serve our community and do what is best for our Teachers and Students! Thanks for all you do to support NMS and NISD! If you see a school board member, please tell them thank you. They do not hear it enough!

From the Bus Barn-New Bus Management System
The Transportation Department is in the process of changing over a new Bus Management System called Bus Right. This system will enhance student safety, streamline bus communication, and manage routes at the touch of a button. A GPS system will track the bus on it's route and provide real time information to parents, administrators and route drivers. Parents will have peace of mind receiving drop off and pick up information before and after school. The system should be online soon. In the meantime, below is the information needed to download the app. Once you set it up on your phone, the app will automatically start giving you information when the transportation department has it up and running. We will let you know when that happens.
