What's Up, Westy Academy!

Only 2 weeks left till Winter Break! There are a handful of items we are focusing on around the school before we welcome 2023!

Keep in mind that middle of the year testing starts next week! STAR Testing starts on Tuesday, and will go till Winter Break. We always like to remind our students that plenty of sleep, eating healthy, and getting some exercise instead of screen time can greatly improve test anxiety, and boost personal testing scores. Make sure you are taking care of yourself, and your mental health so you can be as prepared as possible to give your best!

We are also preparing for the annual Winter Wonderland school carnival on Monday December 12th from 4:00pm-6:00pm. This is a huge family fun evening filled with lots of activities, games, a bounce house, face painting, crafts, and more! PTO will have one more meeting this coming Wednesday to finalize details, and we encourage any parents who are interested in helping out to join. WE ALWAYS NEED SUPPORT and literally cannot do it without you!

Make sure to come and experience the magic of the season with our 3rd-5th graders as they perform Winter-themed songs! Students are encouraged to wear cold weather winter gear like gloves, hats, and scarves as part of the performance theme. NO WINTER COATS should be worn during the performance though, as the stage lights can get hot and cause temperatures to rise. :)
