Fall News for Conners ES Families!
What's Happening at Conners ES?
Dear Conners Families,
We look forward to another great year with the Conners Community. The first day of school is Monday, August 7th. Breakfast will be open at 7:45 A.M. The student entry gates and doors will open at 7:50 A.M. (Students should NOT be arriving prior to these times). Please refer to https://bit.ly/ConnersPickUp_DropOff to locate where your student will be entering and exiting the building. The tardy bell rings at 8:00 A.M. Please have your children to school prior to 8:00 A.M. so that the interruptions to the learning are kept to a minimum. All students are dismissed at 2:11 P.M.
This year, 4th and 5th grade students will be receiving departmentalized instruction. As such, if you have a 4th or 5th grade student, your child will be assigned to multiple teachers who will each teach specific subjects.
Your child’s classroom assignment can be found by logging into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal at https://bit.ly/PortalIC and selecting “Schedules” from the menu. For your convenience, a list of school supplies by grade level is available to view on our website at: https://bit.ly/ConnersClassSupplyLists
If a schedule does not appear please click https://bit.ly/23-24MissingScheduleTicket to submit a ticket to our registrar.
In order to welcome new families and help students acquaint themselves with their new classroom, we will be holding a “Meet and Greet” before school starts, on Friday, August 4th from 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. The purpose of this meeting is to meet the teacher, find out where the students line up and are dismissed from, and to become familiar with the building, so that the students feel comfortable on the first day of school. We encourage families to bring any school supplies at this time.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SAFEKEY REPRESENTATIVES WILL BE ON CAMPUS DURING THIS TIME FOR SAFEKEY SIGNUPS.
We will be having formal “Open House” nights the last week in August. During this event, our staff will be discussing grade level expectations, curriculum, and other important information. Further information will be sent home about this event.
As we begin another wonderful school year, we look forward to working with every child to meet their educational needs. Through student-centered learning environments, we will empower all students to strive to be high achievers, motivate them to define their talents and interests, and give them the tools to be competent and successful in life and society. We, as a school, encourage you to join the Parent Volunteer Committee (PVC) and help us build a school community focused on academic excellence, parent participation and student success. Parents interested can fill out the https://bit.ly/ConnersPTO interest form. Through this partnership, we can truly make a difference that supports our kids!
My staff and I look forward to working with your children and your families.
Sincerely,
Dr. Marentic
