View the District's newly released 2019 Quality Profile HERE (or click the image to the right).
As a member of The Alliance for High Quality Education, Chardon Local Schools, along with more than 85 other school districts throughout Ohio, annually releases a comprehensive, community-oriented companion report to the State's School District Report Card. This report, called a Quality Profile, captures examples of student successes and learning opportunities that do not appear on the state assessments.
Academics, the arts, athletics, extracurriculars, student support, community support, and more are all shared with you within the Quality Profile to demonstrate the value of a Chardon Schools education.
We invite you to share the 2019 Quality Profile with community members outside of the District who would like to learn more about our students' and staff's achievements, experiences, and community involvement.

Teaching Experience
- 7 years teaching, of which 5 years have been in Chardon Schools
Coaching Experience
- Football - This is my first year of coaching 7th grade football at Chardon. On October 14, we finished out the season undefeated at 8-0. Previously, I coached varsity football at Woodridge Local Schools for four years.
- Track/Field - This is my third year coaching track and field at Chardon. The field events that I coach are the shot-put, discus, and weight throw.
Coaching Highlights
had a state qualifier in the weight throw last year during indoor season
had a second athlete to qualify for regionals in discus

BOND ISSUE 21 FAQs of the WEEK
Has the District completed architectural plans for the project?
- No. The District is using ThenDesign Architecture in Willoughby as a pre-bond issue consultant to assist with general project planning and estimation. The actual architectural design process will begin following approval of the bond issue and will start with the selection of an architectural firm using a Qualifications-Based Selection process as required by Ohio law.
- The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission and pre-bond consultant, ThenDesign Architecture, are experienced in school construction in Northeast Ohio. They have access to actual square footage costs of recently-completed projects (See the OFCC website HERE for more information), as well as industry standards for school construction costs. This information is used to develop a cost projection model for the master plan. Using this cost model along with the square footage found in the selected master plan, it is possible to develop a cost projection for the master plan.
- Ohio Revised Code controls the award of public bids to guard against cost overruns.
- There are several phases to the design process for a school building including: Pre-Design; Schematic Design; Design Development; Construction Documents; and Bidding. During each phase, the design professional and construction professional will complete a project estimate and revisions to the design will be implemented to ensure that the project aligns with the overall project budget. This built-in “GPS” allows for early corrections in the project so that the costs of construction match project estimates.
