on how the school year is going
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
Happy New Year of the dragon, everyone, and I hope 2024 is a very good year for all of you. I wish you all the best on the goals you have set for the new year.
Thank all of you who supported our International Day by sending a contribution for our diverse and delicious lunch. The meal is always unforgettable and this one was no exception. For those who did get to visit that day, it was a pleasure having you in school!
As always, any questions, please ask.
All the best,
Lyn Sato
TIPS Principal

A REMINDER ABOUT SEVERE WEATHER SCHOOL CLOSING
How to find out if we have a weather-related delay/closing? Check the landing page on our website by 6 a.m. if snow or ice on the roads or rails might prevent school from running normally.
In such a case, your child may find assignments from teachers on Google Classroom. Teachers may provide learning activities there in each of their classes.
Parent /Staff Association ACTIVITIES
Principal Lyn Sato will represent the TIPS staff at the January PSA meeting.
Around School This Month
The woodworking hobbists continue their work, thanks to Mr. Jessen-Petersen who has organized the weekend excursions to the workshop.
Thank you to Mr. Nabi's grade 7 students for sending along a bit of holiday cheer to those in need. They packed fifty goodie bags to help needy children celebrate Christmas, in collaboration with the Cornerstone organization. It's a good feeling to give!
STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
presented by Ms. Alaska Balamurugan, Student Council Publicist
Time sure does fly by when having fun. Another expected success ensued following our fantastic Christmas events, including a secret santa gift exchange that brought forward laughter, joy, and tears. A very merry Christmas was celebrated early on a Thursday afternoon, December 14, with a cozy movie, hot chocolate, and popcorn made by our expert chefs. I don't know about you, but I don't think any Christmas plans on the 25th could beat what the student council has accomplished.
Following Christmas fun, we had our annual International Day that excited everyone, more-so our stomachs. Filled with sugar and spice from all around the world, we had an absolutely fabulous time learning about new cultures through the breathtaking decorations and endless food. We even had fun events like trivia, a concert, kite-flying, and more.
I love TIPS, and I know you do too! So from the TIPS family, to yours, have a happy holiday and new year! Don't miss us too much. :)
