CISD Tech Weekly Update

To continue discussions on the CISD Wi-Fi, if you own an Apple device (iPad, iPhone, MacBook, iWatch) and you want to use the CISD_Staff Wi-Fi, you will notice a pop-up asking you to trust settings and make changes to your certificate. This is built into Apple devices and it provides a safety warning not to enter your personal information if this were an unknown network. It is okay to proceed in this case. Read below for more information:

Steps to trust the certificate:

1. Click on continue or show certificate to read more about it

2. Next, you will be asked to enter your Apple device password

3. Finally, you will be prompted to login to the CISD_Staff Wi-Fi with you district login credentials (how you login to your district computer.

4. Android users and the CISD network is a discussion for another day!

If your district Wi-Fi keeps switching back to another district network, it is possible that you need to modify your network settings.

1. Go to System Preferences

2. Click on Network Settings

3. Check to see if your device is automatically joining another network

4. Uncheck the Automatically join this network option

5. You may also want to delete old networks that you previously joined
