Summer 2018
We hope you and your students are enjoying this beautiful summer season. Below are a few summer reminders. If you have any questions, our district office is open all summer and we are happy to assist you! Call (208) 664-8241 or email info@cdaschools.org.
Online Verification is Now Open!
Please take a moment and log in to Skyward to complete this process. This step ensures school administrators and teachers have the most current contact information for your student and helps them plan classroom assignments for the upcoming school year.
If you have difficulties logging in, go to the home page of your child’s school website to find the name and email of the designated summer contact. The listed staff member can assist you.
Teen Support Nights
Our second Teen Support Night is tomorrow, July 24 for students in 6th - 8th grades, held at the Kroc Center [1765 W. Golf Course Road, CdA]. This evening of games, fun and connecting with friends was developed to support students affected by suicide during the summer months when they may be most removed from friends with no access to school support systems. Visit us online for more details and event dates.
CdA Reads Events
Has your K-3rd-grade student attended a #CdAReads event yet? It is not too late! As simple as it sounds, reading books can reverse the summer slide in literacy skills. Our K-3rd-grade readers are invited for 2 hours of summer excitement and adventure every Monday and Wednesday. Kids will enjoy music, games, and fun with reading mentors. Each kid receives a free #CdAReads t-shirt, and receive THREE free books and lunch at each visit. Click here for dates and more information.
FREE Summer Meals
The Free Summer Meals Program continues through Aug. 17. Any child age 1 through 18 can eat breakfast and lunch for free Monday through Friday at Borah Elementary, Ramsey Magnet, Northwest Expedition Academy and Lakes Middle.
Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 am and lunch from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Adults can eat, too, for just $2.50 at breakfast and $3.75 at lunch. Read more about the Free Summer Meals program
Nutrition Services Reminders
Now Accepting Free & Reduced Lunch Applications
We strongly encourage our families to take a look at the income guidelines (gross income) and complete an application for free and reduced lunch — before the first day of school.
If you qualified last year, look for the new application we sent in the mail earlier this month. Even if you were qualified sometime during 2018, each family has to submit a new application at the beginning of the new school year. Apply now.
Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance
Please take a moment while completing the online verification process to check your student’s remaining lunch balance from last school year. Please pay any balance using eFunds, call Nutrition Services at 208-667-7469 or pay in person at 1242 E. Best Avenue.
