The Great Trout Release with PBC 5th-Graders
Last week, Pieter B. 5th-graders took a class trip to South Bethlehem Park. Their mission? To release the trout they have been raising for the last 6 months as part of their Trout in the Classroom Unit! Students and staff alike had a great time learning about and experiencing our local natural environment together during the trip - big thank you to all of the RCS and Trout Unlimited Staff for their help! Middle School Physical Education Students of the Month - April 2022
Each month the Physical Education Department at the RCS Middle School will be recognizing individual students for the hard work they demonstrated in class during the entire month. Students were nominated by Physical Education Teachers Mr. James Henry, Ms. Jasmine Powell, and Ms. Anna Davies.
A big congratulations to the Physical Education Students of the Month for April: Ryan Hoch (Grade 6), Masey Raymond (Grade 6), Zachery Rogers (Grade 7), Haley Visone (Grade 7), Brianna Capuano (Grade 8), and Jonathen Weaver (Grade 8)!

District Fundraisers
Running & Upcoming Fundraisers:
- MS PTSO -- RCS Community 5K and Craft Fair: This Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be food trucks and touch-a-truck for the little ones, in addition to tons of crafters, vendors, and other activities. The day will begin with a 5K, one-mile walk, and family fun run as well. Click the link above for more information and registration links.
- MS & HS Genders & Sexualities Alliances Clubs -- Homeless Youth Donation Drive: For the month of May, the Middle & High School GSA Clubs are currently running a supply donations drive to collect necessary supplies to help out youth who cannot stay in their homes and need a safe place to stay. They are looking for the following items: toothbrushes, soap, body wash, slippers, shampoo, loofahs, masks, school supplies, backpacks, activity gift cards (ex. movies, bowling, etc.), travel-size toothpaste, travel-size deodorant, and travel-size mouthwash. Please note that no monetary donations are accepted.
- PBC Student Council on Behalf of the 5th Grade Class -- Pajama/Hat Day: On Thursday, May 26, all PBC PreK through 5th-grade students get to wear PJs and/or a hat. $1 can be donated to benefit the 5th-grade class.
- Class of 2023 -- Bottle and Can Collections: Bring your empty bottles and cans to Just Makes Cents at 2381 Route 9W in Ravena and ask them to apply your total to the Class of 2023 account. The fundraiser runs all year long.
Class of 2023 -- Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser: Join us in the fun and send our flock to friends, neighbors, & family members! Unsuspecting loved ones will walk out their front door to their yard full of our flock of pink flamingos! Flocks will rest for 24 hours in each location, where that person will choose to either βflock it onβ to someone else or simply have them removed. Participate now through the end of May.
