2. Cold and flu season is upon us...Get your flu shots!
Reminders: Proper Handwashing, do not share cups/utensils with others, get plenty of rest at night, cover your mouth/nose when coughing and sneezing, use hand sanitizer, and keep your hands away from your eyes/nose/mouth areas to prevent the spread of germs!
3. Please see “Should I send my child to school?” flier…please follow these guidelines to help decrease widespread illness. I need to stay home if...
4.Jefferson is participating in Delta Dental’s Virtual Land of Smiles program. Your children will be learning about dental hygiene and each student will receive a smile bag containing a new toothbrush/toothpaste.
All about Attendance
* EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS!!!
*Being late for school hurt's a child's learning. A student who is 10 minutes late every day will miss 30 hours of instruction during the year.
* The tardy bell at Jefferson rings at 7:55 am. If you are bringing your student in after 7:55 am please make sure you are walking them into the office and signing them in late.
* If your student leaves early or comes in late, even just 5 minutes, that counts against their attendance for the day.
* If your student is absent from school it is very important that you call the office and inform them of the absence and the reason they will not be at school that day.
Mummy and Me Dance 2023
Seasons Of Hope
What: As our first service learning project for the 2023-2024 school year, each grade level 1st-4th will be collecting money for a family in our community for Season of Hope.
When: November 3rd-November 21st
Where: If you are able to help out, please send your donation with your child in a bag or sealed envelope with the bottom portion of this paper to your child’s teacher or bring by the front office. Anything you can give will help and no amount is too small.
Why: Families that received help from Season of Hope are very appreciative. Here are just a couple things families have said about the organization:
“I was so grateful for the bedding and pillows for my son and grandson. I lost my oldest boy 8 months ago and it’s really been hard on me and his son.”
“Thank you so very much. This year Christmas just wouldn’t have been Christmas without the help of the community and Season of Hope.”
Season of Hope has been a major part of the Saint Francois County Community. Last year alone they were able to help 487 families including 1,135 children for the holidays. Let’s work together to help more families just like these to make this holiday one to remember!
Sincerely,
Your Jefferson Character Committee
