Safety Reminder Around Buses
Assistance from our families is needed! We are seeing increased foot traffic through bus parking lots. We want to remind EVERYONE that it is crucial to use the sidewalk rather than taking shortcuts through the bus parking lots, bus loops, or bus corrals.
The most dangerous time around school buses is between 1-5 mph when buses are entering and exiting parking spaces. A school bus has many blind spots and bus drivers are not able to see people when they are cutting through bus parking lots. We want to avoid any unfortunate incidents that may lead to injuries or even worse.
We kindly request students and staff to use the sidewalk when going to or coming from their buses. We understand that this may be inconvenient, but the safety is our top priority, and we believe that this is something we can control to make for safer passage to and from the school bus.
Thank you for your help, together, we can keep our students and staff safe.

MSHSL ExCEL Award for JUNIORS in High School
Congratulations to Lilah Bartels and Param Thakkar! They are both ExCel Award Winners. The MSHSL ExCel Award is a recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and volunteer in their communities.
Developmental Psychology Applications are available for Juniors
Developmental Psychology is a unique senior course in which students develop close relationships with their senior classmates, become role models for 6th grade students and learn about psychology. The course is two hours a day for a full year with smaller class sizes and covers 2 of the required social studies credits with students having to take the one trimester Economics course as well. Embedded within DP is the Minnesota State - Mankato concurrent enrollment course KSP 150 (3 credits). The same college course material will be taught within the high school setting. MSU has specific admission requirements (21 ACT score and/or 3.0 GPA) to be eligible for college credit. However, you do not have to be enrolled in MSU to take DP. Junior students who are selected into the program work with the 6th graders on a weekly basis teaching the district's chemical prevention education curriculum including healthy decision-making, life skills and drug education. The application link is below. If you, or your student, have any questions, please contact Social Studies teachers Lisa Langenhahn, Mitch Snobeck or Todd Carlson. An informational meeting will be held in Lecture Room A at 2:35 on Tuesday, December 19th. Applications are due Thursday, January 4th at 3:00 pm.

Students Entering Eagan HS During the School Day
Maintaining security in our school during the school day is important. We want to be sure that only Eagan HS students, or students enrolled in our Career Development courses from District 196 schools, or those EHS students who travel from SES to EHS for one or two courses, are entering our building during the school day.
After 7:40 AM all students who enter the building travel in through the secure entry booths. Students will be expected to show their current student id card (which is issued free to all students each school year) at the entry booth station.
Any student who does not have the id card should stop in Attendance to request a replacement.
