Required- End of Course Exams and Tutoring

Mark Your Calendars!

Required- End of Course Exams and Tutoring has started!



The English I E.O.C. (End of Course) Exam is on December 7.

The Algebra I E.O.C. and Biology I E.O.C. is on December 8.

The English II E.O.C. (End of Course) Exam is December 9.

The U.S. History E.O.C. (End of Course) Exam is December 10.




Mrs. Hardister will be tutoring English during her conference on Tuesday, Mrs. Dellert will be tutoring U.S. History on Thursday during her conference, and Mr. Gilbert will be tutoring Algebra 1 on Wednesday and Friday during his conference.



Mrs. Hardister, Mrs. Dellert, and Mr. Gilbert, please keep attendance on those dates, so that we will have the documentation needed for Senate Bill 149/463. It is our sincere hope and desire that none of you need to utilize this insurance policy ( SB 149/463) for graduation, however, it is better to have it and not need it than to not have it at all!

Tips to Foster Gratitude

  • Keep a journal of or in some way note big and little joys of daily life.
  • Write down "three good things"—identify three things that have gone well for you and identify the cause.
  • Write thank-you notes to others.
  • Think about people who have inspired you and what about them was most significant.
  • Engage in "mental subtraction." Imagine what your life would be like if some positive event had not occurred.

World Kindness Day

November 13


World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. The purpose of this day, celebrated on November 13 of each year, is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. This understanding has the power to bridge the gap between nations.

5 Ways to Bring Social Emotional Learning Home

1. Take care of yourself even when if feels as if it is the last thing you can do right now: As parents, you have to take care of your own social emotion needs before you can take care of your children's.



2. Establish Routines Intentionally: Create a daily routine of 10min of social emotional learning that you can stick to.


3.Presence is Not the Same as Being Present: Be intentional about when you’re connecting with children and when you are working. Set daily times for playing together, reading books or singing songs.


4. Practice Active Listening: Do not assume that you know exactly what your child is feeling or is afraid of. Ask questions, listen actively and model eye contact, and then explain what you can in response to their questions.


5. Help Your Child Express and Name Emotions: If children are struggling to identify their feelings, ask them to express it through drawing, a facial expression, or through a movement in

Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2)

The purpose of the Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2) is to determine if you are ready for college-level work in the areas of reading, writing, and math. If you are an incoming college or technical school student in Texas, you are required to take the TSIA2 Assessment.

Waxahachie High School of Choice will be administering the TSIA2 at the HSOC on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 8:30 AM. It will be free to all HSOC students (even those that have graduated this year), but you MUST sign up with Mrs. Cunningham by Friday, November 12, at 9:00 AM in order to participate!!

FAFSA - FAFSA WORKSHOP FOR SENIORS AND FAMILY ATTENTION STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS!

★ Jeff Francis, Senior Financial Aid Director at SAGU, and other college financial aid experts will be on hand to take you step-by-step through the process for applying for financial assistance for college.


★ Come begin your FAFSA/TASFA application, make corrections, submit, or finish verification!


★ Due to space limitations, only one parent/guardian is allowed to attend per WHS/HSOC Senior student.

NOVEMBER 13 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM – in the WHS Library Computer Lab
