Kimball Hill
Reminders: Week of October 2nd
Message from the Principal
We have a lot of exciting activities on the horizon! Our teachers have been working so hard to build a positive classroom community and we are so proud of our students for demonstrating great behavior. We are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) school and strive to be kind and respectful community members. We expect all students and staff to model exceptional behavior through our motto: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe. We recognize and celebrate our students’ successes with demonstrating exceptional behavior in the following ways:
Cougar Paws:
Students earn Paws when demonstrating behavior that goes above and beyond expectations.
Monthly, students will have an opportunity to trade in the PAWs at our school store for small trinket items and/or a variety of coupons of their choice (pajama day, lunch with the Principal, bring a stuffed animal to school etc).
School Store Visit: October 12th & 13th
Cougar Rallies
Monthly school behavior goals are set.
If goals are met, the school earns a school-wide celebration, a Cougar Rally, where classrooms and students are recognized for outstanding behavior.
Our 1st Rally: October 12th
School Wide Celebration- Pajama Day: October 13th
We are looking for parent volunteers to help students redeem their hard earned PAWs at the school store visit on October 12th & 13th. Please email me if you are interested, and it will be first come first serve. We appreciate your consideration.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather!
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera

Halloween Celebration and Costume Guidelines Tuesday, October 31, 2022
We are excited to celebrate Halloween again this school year. Please kindly take a moment to review our plan and expectations for Tuesday, October 31, 2023. We look forward to a memorable and fun celebration for all students! If your student cannot participate, please email your child’s teacher by October 25th.
1:30-1:45 pm-Students in grades Pre-K-6th grade will parade outside in their costumes. Parents are welcome to view the parade from the grassy area outside of the yellow line (see picture attached). This is weather permitting ONLY and will not be rescheduled outdoors if we experience inclement weather. The parade will be moved to indoors if it becomes inclement for students only. We are hoping that Mother Nature cooperates.
1:50-2:50 pm- Students in grades Pre-K-6th grade will have a classroom Halloween Party following the parade. The parties are sponsored and organized by our PTA and our parent room reps. Only parents who are signed up to help with classroom parties will be allowed to participate. Students will be dismissed from school at 3:05 pm.
AM Kindergarten ONLY
9:45-10:00am parade on blacktop
10:00-10:45 am class party
Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school for the day. We have moved away from students changing during the noon hour or going home to do so. We look forward to students being able to wear their Halloween and/or fall gear for the day at school. We strongly encourage children to wear costumes that are comfortable and appropriate for school. Students will NOT be allowed to wear costumes that do not meet the guidelines. Please review and follow the below guidelines when choosing a costume this year. If your child does not celebrate Halloween, please email the teacher and your child will go to the library and can participate in a fall independent activity.

Per the Student Handbook: Students are permitted to wear costumes on Halloween as long as their attire complies with the above student appearance policy and meets the following set of expectations for a school setting:

Actual weapons, look-alike weapons, toy weapons or weapon-like objects are not allowed.
Masks that cover the face and head are not allowed.
