All orders for spring pictures must be placed before 9:00 AM on picture day. Only students with an order will be photographed individually.

TIPS FOR PICTURE DAY:

Do you know a child who will be five years old on or before August 31? Maybe it's your neighbor, friend or even your own child. Now’s the right time to enroll next year’s kindergarten students. The sooner you enroll, the better we can keep you informed and get prepared for your child to join us. Get information on what documents you need and how to enroll -- the process is all online at sumnersd.org/register.

To help welcome new kinders and their families, each of our elementary schools created virtual tours, which includes a school tour and staff introduction. Watch each schools' video here.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in our chocolate fundraiser. We are currently looking at $15K profit thanks to your dedication to our school, group and students! We can't wait to use these funds for the enrichment programs and some other fun activities for students at the end of the school year! A reminder that we will end on Wednesday, 2/23, and all outstanding money will need to be turned in by then.

We'd also like to invite students to participate in a 'Pairs Day' on Tuesday in honor of 2/22/22. Students can wear a fun pair of something such as socks, match colors in their outfits or even pair up with a fellow Thunder Eagle to be twins. We look forward to seeing all of the fun combos!

READY! for Kindergarten is a free program that offers age-appropriate targets, training and tools for parents and caregivers of children birth to age five that ensure success in school. These classes are typically funded for school districts, foundations and community organizations.

Session dates:

• Wednesday, Feb. 23
• Tuesday, March 1 and/or
• Thursday, March 3

Time: All sessions are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Location: All sessions are held virtually through Zoom. Links will be emailed the day of your orientation/session.

• Parents or caregivers attend workshops specific to the age of their child.

• Class recommendation based on their birthdate and the year they will enter kindergarten (Birth to age 1, 1-2 years old, 2-3 years old, 3-4 years old, and 4-5 years old)

• Materials and information presented are tailored to the child’s age group. New materials and information provided at each seasonal session.

• Multiple dates are offered for family convenience.

• If you have multiple children, sign up for two dates or bring an additional adult to attend both workshops.

• READY! classes are for parents. One set of handouts and a tool kit is provided for each child, but an adult must attend the class to receive the materials. We cannot give you tools for someone else's child.

• Sumner-Bonney Lake School District provides the READY! Program FREE to families within the school district boundaries. Out of district families are required to pay a one time $25 fee for Orientation Materials and a $60 fee for each class attended to cover the costs of the learning tool kits.
