New Principal in the Building?

Dear Families,


I hope this message finds you all in great spirits. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the new principal of Sherman County School. I am truly excited to be a part of this community and have the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated students, families, and staff. I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. Let's build strong partnerships, keep communication open, and work hard to continue a positive educational experience for our students. I am excited to collaborate with you all as we maintain a bright and successful future for our school. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. High School days

I grew up in Suquamish, WA and graduated from North Kitsap HS in Poulsbo, WA in 1987. My mom was a speech therapist and dad was a preacher.

College Days

I graduated from Pacific Univ in May of 1992 and Darla and I were married in June in Forest Grove, OR. We've been married 31 years!

These Days

Darla and I have 2 daughters. Elena just graduated from Linfield University and lives in Bandon, OR. Emma will be a sophomore at Western Washington Univ in Bellingham, WA.

My Career

  • Earned my BA in Modern Languages (Spanish) from Pacific Univ in 1992 & Masters in Teaching (MAT) from Lewis & Clark College in 2000.
  • Taught HS Spanish at Centennial HS & Hood River Valley HS for 18 years total (2000-2018).
  • Earned my Oregon Principals License from Concordia Univ of Chicago in 2018.
  • Worked at Hood River Valley HS as Assistant Principal/Athletic Administrator for 5 years.
  • Earned the the Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) credential in 2020 through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
  • Coached 25 years of high school wrestling at Tualatin HS, Madison HS, Centennial HS, Hood River Valley HS (1994-2019).
  • Took over as Principal at Sherman County School in 2023!!! :-)
