A Message From Mrs. Polanco
Dear BCE Community,
I am so relieved we have made it through the coldest of days! Please forgive our delays at drop off in the mornings as we are not allowed to have patrols on duty if it is below 40 degrees. Also, please be patient with staff that IS outside on those cold days. They are doing their best to get our students inside in some very coldy weather. Please note that our drivethourgh is single laned. Cars should not be going around each other as it is hard to see students and others trying to cross in the crosswalk. With your help we can get our students in the building safely.
Please read Mrs. Rodriguez's message about the importance of attendance. Not only do students need to be at school, they need to be at school ON TIME. Many of our students receive their academic interventions and extension between 7:45-8:20 and they need to be at school to receive what they need.
I can't wait to meet our incoming pre-k and kinder students on Tuesday night! It is always so much fun to see these littlest students on campus!
I hope you were able to enjoy your weekend. We stayed close to home as we had soem errands to run around town and many church events on Sunday. Have a wonderful week!
Daryn Polanco

Mrs. Rodriguez's Message
Attendance Matters
Please be reminded that state law requires students to attend at least 90% of school days in order to receive credit for the school year, which is equivalent to no more than 18 absences. Excused absences include healthcare appointments, religious holidays, and court appearances. If your child is absent, please be sure to send a doctor's note or a note documenting the reason for the absence. If absences exceed the allowable limit, Saturday School may be assigned to help make up missed learning time. We encourage you to prioritize regular attendance so that your child can fully benefit from their education and meet the required standards. Thank you for your cooperation!
With Texan Pride,
Eleanor Rodriguez

Also, just a reminder that cough drops are not allowed in school without a doctor’s note. All medications must be brought to campus by an adult and stored in the clinic. This is for the safety of all of our students.
