SAFETY UPDATES SAFETY UPDATES

SAFETY: PROCEDURES AUDIT

Under the leadership of our School Safety Specialist, Erica Holck, the admin team is reviewing all of our safety procedures. Robert Sensi of the NJDOE Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning is scheduled to meet with us on December 18th to assess remaining needs.

HALL PASS APP

The new digital hall pass app in LMS has proved to reduce hallway shenanigans dramatically. Not all students love the 5 minute time limit, understandably. For instance, there are times when it may take longer than 5 minutes to make it to the office and back to class. Through data from student sign-outs, staff is able to offer grace to the occasional student who exceeds the time limits.

THREAT ASSESSMENT TEAM

The team met to review procedures that inform research-based supports for children who exhibit concerning behaviors.

DISCIPLINE

We have seen dramatically significant improvements in the area of student discipline. This can be attributed to

1. We re-envisioned the admin team and now have an Assistant Principal of Discipline and an Assistant Principal of Climate and Culture at the complex

2. Our new Code of Conduct

3. A new hallway monitoring app in LMS

4. Our new Multi-tiered Systems of Support

5. The impact of our new Board Certified Behavioral Analysts programming

Mental Health Resources

  • Lumberton cares about mental health and wellbeing - for all of us. Families and staff have access to Care Solace to help save time and aggravation when navigating mental health support resources. Click here to learn more.
  • This podcast describes the difference between hypnosis (western, problem focused) and meditation (eastern, not problem oriented).
