We continue to update information as it becomes available and solidified. Our staff has been very busy finalizing plans to be ready to serve students. We want to express our continued gratitude for everyone's patience and understanding as we have navigated the reinvention of our educational program to meet the current state mandates. We look forward to sharing an official welcome back to school message from Superintendent McClay towards the middle to end of this week.

TVUSD's first day of school is Monday, August 17, 2020. It will be a modified day with times listed below.

Chaparral, Great Oak, and Temecula Valley High Schools - 7:30 a.m. - 12:16 p.m.

Rancho Vista High School - 9:40 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

Middle Schools (except BVMS) - 8:15 a.m. - 12:40 p.m.

(BVMS) Bella Vista Middle School - 8:30 a.m to 12:55 p.m.

Elementary Schools Grades 1-5 - 8:55 a.m. - 1:35 p.m.

TK/Kinder - 8:55 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Chaparral, Great Oak, and Temecula Valley High Schools - 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Click Here

Technology Devices

TVUSD recognizes that students may need technology devices to support their online learning and we are committed to ensuring that every student who needs a device receives one.

If your child currently has a digital device, such as a desktop computer, laptop, Chromebook, IPad, Galaxy tablet, and other Android-based devices that can connect to Chrome in your home available for your child’s use, you do not need to request a device.

If you already completed your Annual Family Update in Infinite Campus and now need to add a device for your child, please use the following link. School sites will coordinate their own site device pickup processes and communicate with families directly.

Home Internet/WIFI Resources

EveryoneOn is a nonprofit dedicated to creating social and economic opportunities by connecting low-income families to affordable internet service and computers and delivering digital skills training. To see what resources might be available in your area please Click here.

If you are unable to secure internet access through the above resources and need additional assistance, TVUSD has a limited number of wifi hotspots available to low-income families upon request. Please Click here for information and how to submit a request.

Meals will be served from 11 am - 1 pm, Monday - Friday at the following locations:

you are enrolled at - come to the middle school closest to you!

To see if you qualify to receive free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program, complete an online application today! Visit https://temeculafreshfood.com/ and click on the Rocket Scan image to begin your application.

If you do not qualify for the program, you can purchase a breakfast & lunch meal kit for $4.50 (elementary students), $5.00 (middle school students), or $5.50 (high school students).

We empathize and agonize over the dilemma and hardships the current health pandemic has placed on working families. Our ultimate goal is to return students and staff safely to on-campus learning as soon as we are able to do so, within public health and state mandates. We continue to evaluate and review options to assist families, students, and staff, including exploring partnerships with other agencies. We also want to share that we will be providing regular communication with families with helpful tools, tips, and tricks that may make the online learning time frame more manageable for families. Be on the lookout for a weekly resource from your child's school site.

Waiver for Elementary On-Campus Instruction

The state released updated information on August 3. The state document recommends that county health departments prohibit any exceptions in counties where the numbers of coronavirus infections are more than 200 cases per 100,000 population. That’s twice the rate of the current threshold that puts counties on the school closure list and would rule out elementary school waivers for 14 of the 38 counties currently on the state’s monitoring list and includes Riverside County. TVUSD will continue to seek clarity with appropriate agencies and legal authorities regarding the waiver and the feasibility to pursue. Athletics and Conditioning

At this time, all sports in the CIF Southern Section have been suspended and are proposed to begin in the winter with a modified schedule. The state issued updated guidance on August 3. The state guidance for youth sports establishes a consistent set of rules that apply to all youth sports programs — including school-based, club, and recreational programs. Outdoor and indoor sporting events, assemblies, and other activities that require close contact or that would promote congregating, such as tournaments and competitions, are not permitted at this time. Youth sports and physical education are permitted only when physical distancing of at least six feet and a stable cohort of participants, such as a class, can be maintained. Activities should take place outside to the maximum extent possible. TVUSD is currently reviewing the new guidance and will provide more information as soon as it has been properly evaluated with appropriate staff.

Please contact your child's school site directly. The office staff are back in service and can assist you with individual questions about your child. School sites and departments are still closed to the public. Please be patient if there is a delay in responding. The staff is working extremely hard to manage questions and concerns.
