Greetings Trojan Family,

This is a message from your Proud Principal, Leslie Kinard.

Preparation for EOGs

We are finishing up the last few units of the year and preparing for EOGs. Please make sure your student is here daily. Attendance is important. EOG's will begin at the end of the month after Memorial Day.

Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance

This Friday, we look forward to recognizing our students who have worked hard academically and achieved "A" and "A/B" Honor Roll as well as Perfect Attendance. Students will have an ice cream party and recognition.

One Card and Devices

Please make sure your students brings their One Card daily along with their device. All of our FMS students have been issued both.

Social Media

Families, we need your help. Please assist us by monitoring your student's social media, if you allow them to have it. Sit down with your student and preview the content on their pages and the conversations they are having in group chats with other students. Your vigilance will help us ensure that students are making good choices while using those platforms.

Safety

As a district and school, we are taking every precaution to ensure the continued safety of our students. Here's how you can help:

If your student is sick, please keep them at home. Our teachers will be updating assignments on Canvas. Students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should stay home and get a test for COVID-19 on day five.
If you suspect or confirm that your student has COVID-19, please report it immediately by contacting the school at 336-819-2855 or emailing our data manager Ms. Pierce.

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

Celebrations are in order! We can't wait to recognize our 8th graders and their promotion to high school. Monday, June 6th we will have our promotion ceremonies in-person in the FMS Gymnasium. Due to restrictions and to accommodate families, their will be a ceremony for each team. Your students will receive more information regarding the day and dress code for the ceremony next week.

8th Grade Virtual Field Trip - Civil Right Museum

This Friday, our 8th grade students will participate virtually in the GCS annual Civil Right Museum field trip. We know this will be a rewarding virtual experience for our 8th graders.
