Methacton Boost Program
Dr. Kelley Harmer, principal of Eagleville Elementary School, presented the Boost After School Program to the Board for implementation. The after-school program is slated for grades 1 through 4 and will begin in late October at each of the 4 elementary schools. Dr. Harmer shared that this program will focus on reading and mathematics and can have a profound positive impact for students that need extra time and practice.
Students will be invited to participate based on their performance on benchmark assessments and progress in the classroom. The program will run from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will group students based on academic need. Dr. Zerbe shared that the funding for this program will be covered from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) grant at an estimated cost of $131K.
Dr. Harmer is leading this program for the district. He strongly believes that a combination of teacher-direct support and use of Lexia Core5 and Reflex Math programs can help provide the necessary support and practice students need to achieve.
2021-2022 Instructional Calendar Revision
