Principal's Message
Dear Trojan Families,
As we move further into the school year, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the dedication and effort that both our students and teachers have been putting into their work. It's clear that we are all committed to making this school year an excellent one, and I'm grateful for your ongoing support in this endeavor.
As we transition from the initial excitement of the school year, I'd like to encourage you to have open and constructive conversations with your student about a couple of important points:
1. **Respect for Authority**: At Northwestern, we firmly believe in maintaining a respectful and orderly environment. When a staff member addresses your student, it's crucial for them to remain calm, listen attentively, and follow instructions. This applies regardless of whether they agree with the instructions. Every staff member holds a position of authority, and our students are valued members of our educational community. While we encourage students to use their voices to express themselves, it's equally important that they learn how and when to do so respectfully.
2. **Cell Phone Policy**: Our school's policy regarding cell phones is an essential part of maintaining a focused and productive learning environment. Please remind your student that the use of cell phones is prohibited from 8:35 am until 3:45 pm, which includes transition periods and lunchtime. If we, as parents, unite in reinforcing this message, it will significantly benefit the overall learning experience for all students.
Your partnership in upholding these guidelines will contribute to a positive and successful school year for our students. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the values we hold dear at Northwestern High School.
Warm regards,
Michael Abraham
Principal
