STUDENT DRESS CODE/APPEARANCE
Student Dress:
School Board Policy states that the studentâs appearance should be neat and clean. Dress and appearance which cause disruption to the educational process, present a health hazard, or safety problems shall not be permitted. Dress and appearance are the responsibility of the parents. Teachers and administrators feel that going to school is much like going to work and students should learn to dress for that purpose. The following dress code will be enforced at Adams:
No spaghetti strap tops, halter-tops, or midriff revealing shirts will be allowed. Sleeveless shirts must have at least three inches of fabric across the shoulder.
Skirt/shorts length: With hands held down straight to the side, the skirt/shorts hem should be no shorter than 2 inches beyond the tips of the fingers.
Clothes containing artwork or language making reference to alcohol, drug- related activities, or sexual behavior will not be allowed.
Any clothing or personal appearance that could be interpreted as gang-related will not be allowed (e.g. "colors"; loose fitting clothing; âsignsâ associated with physical appearance, gothic lettering; bandanas; hairnets; etc.) will not be allowed. Wapato Police Dept keeps the school district informed on a regular basis of what constitutes gang-related clothing/appearance.
