The Weekly Update #4
October 6th, 2022
Superintendent's message
It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving has passed and the end of the calendar year is fast approaching. I hope that everyone has wonderful plans for the holiday season! Being with family and friends for the New Year is a great way to celebrate 2022 while anticipating all of the positive possibilities for 2023.
Thank you for all of the well wishes since I announced that I will be retiring as Superintendent of Avon Lake City Schools at the end of this school year. My time at Avon Lake City Schools has been exciting and gratifying. It would take way too many pages to list all of the “stuff” that has happened in the last 18 years that is notable, but in the end the people that I have associated with during that time are what counts. I can’t thank you all enough for what you mean to me.
Watch for the 2022-23 issue of This is Our Avon Lake magazine. The magazine will feature Avon Lake City Schools, as well as staff and students, past and present. In our 100th year as a school district it is a great tribute to the academics, athletics, fine art programs, and the people of the Avon Lake City Schools that made or are making our school district so special.
We love to see everyone back in our schools. Over the next few weeks there are countless activities at all of our campuses. Holiday concerts and winter athletic events are happening daily. Check out the district calendar on our website and see our students in action. It is truly amazing!
I hope to see you all soon!
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Bob Scott
Superintendent
