A Note From Dr. Overstreet...
Happy New Year Irish Family! I hope all of you had a wonderful and restful Holiday Break. We are indeed excited to welcome our students, staff, and school community back to the beginning of the "second half" of this amazing school year. We are ready to begin a second half that will ensure that all students are successful as we close out this school year in May.
Report Cards: Report Cards will be distributed to students Monday, January 8th.
Prom: The Prom Committee has set the Prom Date for Friday, April 26th. Prom will be held in the Rotunda at the high school. The theme this year is "Masquerade Ball, A Night to Remember!" More information will be
shared with juniors and seniors in the coming days.
1st Semester Achievements: Our building theme this year among teachers and the staff has been "Trust the Process." The theme incorporates the vision and mission of Dublin City Schools along with district goals and the district's Strategy Map. Therefore, we were elated to share with our students and staff some of the many accomplishments we have achieved during the first half of this school year. Last Thursday, I shared those successes with the student body during grade level meetings. That PowerPoint is attached to this newsletter to share with you as well just a few of those accomplishments along with a few reminders.
PBIS Celebrations: Following grade level meetings Thursday with the entire student body. The admin team and I decided to celebrate first semester accomplishments and encourage a strong finish during second semester among our students. I was so proud of our students until I decided to treat everyone in the building to a popcorn and soft drink snack break because the students did such an amazing job during each of the four meetings with our PBIS expectations (Be Engaged, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible). Every student was also awarded with five PBIS points. It was great at DHS!
PLEASE COMPLETE & SHARE This Survey! We know our school community is strongest when all voices are heard! So, we’re asking all families to take a few moments to share their thoughts about the quality of services currently being provided to their children. Responses are being collected NOW - Wednesday, January 10th! Click on the link below to respond to the survey.

21st Century After School Program: The 21st Century Afterschool Program is available to all students. The 21st Century Program is an after-school program for students who are in need of extra help or tutoring for core academic subjects they are currently enrolled in this semester. Students can also recover credits for courses they may have previously failed in order to get back on track for graduation. The afternoon program is Monday - Thursday from 2:30 until 5:30. Bus transportation along with an afterschool meal are provided. For more information, please contact Ms. Madison, the school's Graduation Coach at 478-353-8040.
“Don’t Stop Believing!”
Go Irish!
