Dear MDE Families,

Time is flying by here at MDE as we are working hard in the second semester. We have some important events and dates coming up, so please take note.

March 10 - Field Day - The coaches have exciting events planned outside on this day. Please be sure to send your child to school with sunscreen applied, hats and water bottles.

March 13-17 - Spring Break - have a wonderful time with your families!

March 20 - CCPS Night at the Fair

March 20-24 - QBA 3 Benchmark Testing in Grades 3-5

March 27 - No School - Teacher Planning Day

April 7 & 10 - No School

Math Minutes

Using Technology to practice math at home.

Does your student enjoy being on the computer? Did you know that they can access grade-appropriate math practice at home? Kindergarten through Second grade can use Redbird. Third grade through Fifth grade can use Redbird or Aleks. Both programs are designed to engage students in practice and offer support on topics that students are struggling with. Below are the steps on how you can access these programs at home.

Go to https://canvas.collierschools.com/

Have your student sign in with their student id number and password. You can ask your student’s teacher for this information if they do not know it.

Click on the resource tab on the left side of the screen. Students should be familiar with this as they use Canvas at school daily.

Click either Redbird or Aleks
