Raider Nation Newsletter
Week of May 24, 2021
Dear Atholton Families,
It is hard to believe that we are fast approaching the end of this unprecedented school year. As the brakes on most restrictions begin to ease, we must still follow the guidelines outlined by HCPSS regarding safety protocols. The latest message from Dr. Martirano outlines expectations. In short, the wearing of masks outdoors on HCPSS school grounds is optional except for athletic events.
As graduation nears, our last rehearsal will be held this Wednesday, May 26 at 8:30 am. We will do a final walk-through (all students should have their seat numbers). More importantly, we will distribute cap and gowns, graduation tickets, and collect all HCPSS materials (textbooks, Chromebooks, etc.). All seniors are expected to return any HCPSS items and settle any outstanding obligations before graduation tickets will be issued. If you have any questions regarding obligations, please contact Ms. Fowler at Colleen_Fowler@hcpss.org.
As many of our senior parents now know, the number of tickets for each senior has been increased to six! If for any reason, a family requires more than six tickets, the request must come to me at Robert_Motley@hcpss.org. All requests need to be in by Tuesday, May 25. Information regarding parking has been updated on the HCPSS Commencements webpage. Please refer to this page for details on health and safety protocols, parking/maps, Livestream and TV rebroadcast, and photography. You can find all of that at https://www.hcpss.org/commencements/.
Lastly, have you thought about summer sports camps? The Atholton Athletic Boosters is holding their annual Raiders Summer Sports Camps this summer. Each individual camp will be taught by highly talented and skillful staff. The staff is committed to implementing an instructional clinic from beginners to advanced athletes in a safe and fun environment. Tuition for each camp is $150 per camper which includes a t-shirt, individual skills testing, and specialized instruction from qualified staff members. Eligible Campers are any students aged 10-18 who HAVE NOT played that particular sport at Atholton High School. PLEASE NOTE: the Boys & Girls Soccer Camp is offered to boy and girl campers aged 6-16.
Fifteen Camps are being offered - please go to https://atholtonboosters.org/summer-sports-camps/ for the complete schedule for June, July & August, and more information.
Wishing everyone a spectacular Memorial Day! Please take a moment to honor and remember our servicemen and servicewomen who answered America's call to service and paid the ultimate price.
There will not be a newsletter next week due to the holiday.
