Gifted 11 Send Off
We also had a group of students in 11th grade take on the task of crafting an honor code for the Gifted Program. With our rapidly changing digital landscape, I am so proud of students for being proactive about cultivating character for our program. These students have worked all year and will continue to work through next year, as well: Jonathan Bass, Sloane Carfield, Joelle Jeanmougin, Elena King Claire Miller, Skylar Moore, Matthew Muldrow, and Brandon Parokh. I am inspired by their hard work.
Go Webster! Thank you for the lovely year.

Congratulations to the Missouri Scholars Academy Winners!
MSA is a three-week-long residential program for gifted rising 11th graders. It takes place on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus, June 11 - July 1, 2023. Students have a variety of classes and activities from which to choose. This is a prestigious opportunity, and the students who have participated consider it a transformative experience. The WGSD Gifted Department supports and encourages students to apply for the program. Nominations for MSA 2024 will open in December 2023.
The selection process includes looking at a student’s:
Grade point average
Aptitude Test Scores
Two student essays
Two letters of recommendation
Evidence of leadership, creativity, curiosity, problem solving ability and other attributes
Commitment to participate fully in the Academy’s offerings
Gifted 9 Send Off
After completing a month of novel writing with Nations Novel Writing Month, I am proud to say that we had a few future novelists in 9th grade: Sophia Besand, Chloe Bronner, Cassidy Fischer, Lenora Hannel, Marc Horn, Wyvern Kerr, Zeona Smith, and Katherine Spellecy.
with that in mind, I wanted to share an opportunity. Two of our former students have taken over Ted Ibur's summer writing program They mentioned they are especially in need of grades 6-0, but they are open to anyone.
