No Parking Permit?
If you are a newly licensed driver and/or a driver WITHOUT an LHS issued parking permit, you must park at Hazelia, on the street in front of LHS or in the neighborhood. Please help promote goodwill in the surrounding area--staying away from driveways and mailboxes (10 ft on either side). If you disregard these parking directives, you will be fined ($30 minimum) and/or called out of class to move your vehicle (or your vehicle could be towed). LHS received multiple complaints from the local community. We need your help!

LHS Nutrition Services - Information For Seniors!
Congratulations on your student's graduation from high school!
Prior to graduation, please check your student's meal account balance. The meal account should be zeroed out prior to graduation.
If the meal account has a negative balance it is necessary to pay the negative balance off before graduation. There are 2 ways to do this:
- Create a parent account and use a credit account to pay the balance. https://www.schoolcafe.com/
- Write a check or bring in cash directly to the school cafeteria. Checks should be made out to LOSD/Nutrition Services and reference your student's name and ID number.
If the meal account has excess funds, there are three choices:
- donate to the benevolent fund account for students with food insecurity
- transfer the balance to a sibling (include names)
- request a refund
Please email your choice to nutritionservices@loswego.k12.or.us
If you are requesting a refund, please include:
- student name/id number
- who to make the check out to
- the mailing address
If you have any questions please email nutritionservices@loswego.k12.or.us
AP Exams: First Two Weeks In May!
A few things to keep in mind:
- Transportation - Morning exams start before school. Students will need to arrive at Lakeridge before the 7:30AM check in.
- Afternoon exams may extend beyond the school day, so coaches, employers, appointments need to be informed. Students will not be released until the end of the exam.
Our students have spent the entire year studying for these exams and our teachers will have them well prepared for exam day. This year, AP US History, AP Euro History, AP English Language, and AP English Literature will all be digital exams and require school issued Chromebooks. AP French and AP Spanish testing students will also need to use their school issued Chromebooks. Additional information regarding AP testing is available on the LHS website (LHS Website: Advanced Placement Exams).
Newsletter Run Date: Until 5/13/23
College Decision Day is Coming Up On May 1st!
Traditionally, a lot of colleges ask students for a commitment on May 1st or around that time. Let the college know you will attend by putting in your deposit.
This date also means you need to let other colleges know that you will not be attending. You can notify them through their student portals or email. It’s very important to do this so the college can accept other students in place of your spot!

Are you undecided on which school to pick? Here are some ideas, and “Three Ways to Decide What Your Heart Wants (in One Day, One Hour, or One Minute)”.

Plan for College Speaker (Get Legal Documents Ready) - 5/2/23
Join us for a free parent education class and get five legal documents ready that will help you if your child plans on leaving for college! Presented by past LOHS parent and attorney Michelle-Shari Kruss.
- When: 5/2/23
- Time: 5:30-6:30
- Where: Lake Oswego High School Cafeteria
For the past 18 years, you have been able to be involved in every facet of decision making. Unfortunately, once your child turns 18 they are considered an adult in the eyes of the law. As such, a parent's legal ability to assist with; a medical decision, communicate with a child's physician, negotiate/inquire with an insurance company, address a financial transaction, represent a child in a legal matter, dispute a fraud, transfer medical records, deal with a digital asset (computers, logins, online banking, iCloud, etc.) or speak with academics ends. You can still have a seat at the table. But to do so you need to complete a few very important legal documents.
Michelle-Shari will be sharing some very eye-opening stories of her young adult clients who have needed one or more of these legal documents.
- Power of Attorney for Health. Physician Advance Directive
- Power of Attorney for Finance
- HIPAA Release Form
- FERPA
- Digital Asset Worksheet
- Temporary Guardianship Affidavit for those of us who will not be empty nesters and still have a minor child at home.
Everyone is welcome. Come with your questions. Handouts will be provided.

Congratulation LOSD OBOB!
Capping off a banner year for LOSD OBOB, *both* LHS and Hallinan won State titles today down in Salem.
LMS finished 3rd in the 6-8 division — perhaps a little cruelly, they were the only LOSD team in the three divisions who emerged from pool play with the #1 overall seed, but got upset in the semifinals — and LOJ finished tied for fifth.
We were the only school district in Oregon to qualify a team in all three divisions (and qualified two in the 6-8 division!). No private school or school district has ever had an OBOB year like this one.
