January Assessments
As we enter the month of January, we are entering our winter benchmark testing time here at school. Our students have been in school now for 4 months and it is time to check in and see how much growth everyone has made so far. These assessments also help us identify how we can make adjustments to instruction to better meet the needs of each individual student.
MAP, Gr 2-4 stands for Measures of Academic Progress. MAP Growth is a dynamic adaptive assessment that measures your students' achievement and growth in Gr 2-4 in math and reading. It is used in grade 4 to measure growth in science as well. We use MAP assessment results to understand how your students are performing and to inform our instruction.
ACCESS for English Language Learners is an English language proficiency test designed to measure English learners' social and academic proficiency in English. This assessment is used to determine the English language proficiency levels and progress of ELs in the domains of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Our K-4 ELL children will be taking this assessment beginning January 8th.
DIBELS, K-3: The purpose of DIBELS is to measure the progress of all students in early reading skills. DIBELS subtests measure critical skills and abilities that are necessary for reading success. Teachers use this assessment to measure progress and identify individual student needs.
