2024-2025 Course Registration with all 9th - 11th Graders
Counselors met with all 9th - 11th graders from January 29 - March 8
Thank you for assisting your student in making good choices for the upcoming 2024 - 2025 school year. School counselors met individually with every 9th, 10th and 11th grade student. We discussed the following information with students:
- Courses required to meet graduation requirements
- Core teacher recommendations for next year's English, Math, Social Studies and Science courses
- Strengths and interests to determine choices of electives and recommendations to further students' interests and post-high school goals.
Specifically with 11th grades students, counselors discussed the unique opportunities for seniors:
- Scheduling for all courses to meet graduation requirements for 2025. English 12 and a senior year math course are the required minimum for seniors' schedules.
- Post-high school plans and decisions about high school course work that would further plans to meet students' goals upon graduation.
- Partial schedule options: students and parents must sign the Senior Reduced Schedule Form to be approved for a schedule that is less than a full schedule at Broadneck.
- 11th graders have an opportunity to sign up in college visits in Naviance for the Anne Arundel Community College meeting led by the admissions advisor, Ms. Booker, on Wednesday, April 3 at 8:45 AM
If you have any last minute adjustments to course choices, please view your student's class requests on PowerSchool and email any change requests before March 15.

College Decisions and Financial Aid update
College Decisions and FAFSA (financial aid)
Some colleges may be delaying their dates of admissions letters to prospective students. Colleges have also extended the deadline dates for prospective students to decide where to go next year. Since the FAFSA information has been delayed, financial aid award letters will also be delayed from colleges.
