Congratulations Graduates!
Volunteer of the Quarter!
Michel Echeverria
Sequoia Adult School would like to recognize and congratulate Michel Echeverria as the Volunteer of the Quarter!
Mike volunteers 3 nights a week in our ESL Level 3 classes. On top of that, he works one-on-one with students in the High School Diploma and High School Equivalency Program as a Math and Science tutor. He always brings his positive and infectious can-do attitude with genuine enthusiasm to the classroom. Students have a profound amount of respect for Mike and appreciate that he is able to tutor them in their native language Spanish. We can’t thank Mike enough for his dedication and commitment to helping our students achieve their goals!
Meet Michel!
Name: Michel Yehudi Echeverria
What do you do for work? I'm a Graphic Designer.
What are your favorite hobbies? Hiking, reading sci-fi books, and collecting vinyl records.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Sequoia Adult School? Well, it feels great when you have the opportunity to help people in your community. I really enjoyed the interaction with the students and teachers at SAS. They all have this great positive attitude to make a difference and achieve their goals.
What's your favorite memory at SAS? I think the best memories so far are the times that students reach out to you just to say "thank you."
Do you have any advice to give to the other volunteers or students? Always be positive, always be patient and always be perseverant.
Thank you Michel!
