📰 Bearcat News Update ☑️
72 AHS Students Recognized by College Board National Recognition Program
A total of 72 Aledo High School juniors and seniors recently learned that they earned a combined 78 honors from the College Board National Recognition Program. This honor celebrates students' hard work in high school and showcases their dedication to strong academic performance.
College Board honors and celebrates students who are in a rural or small-town area or identify as African American, Hispanic or Indigenous. Earning this recognition is an opportunity for students to share their strong academic achievements with colleges and scholarship programs.
“Our students continue to excel and impress us on a daily basis,” Aledo High School principal Angi Tims said. “They set a high standard for themselves, and this recognition is proof that that has paid off. Congratulations to our College Board Recognition Program scholars; we are proud to have you all representing AHS in this way.”

Health Science students visit the Early Childhood Academy to spread tips on hand washing, not germs
Students from Aledo High School's Health Science program visited the Early Childhood Academy on Sept. 7, 2023 to teach Pre-K students best practices on hand washing and keeping healthy. This opportunity provided exceptional experiences for our oldest and our youngest Bearcats.
Part of the Aledo Bond 2023 program includes renovations to the Aledo High school library. Today, AHS students participated in a library charrette with Huckabee Architects to provide input regarding the renovation and redesign of the existing library. The students who participated had great, innovative ideas, and we can't wait to see some of these incorporated into this refreshed space for AHS students!

Aledo ISD Strategic Partner Information
Aledo Children's AdvoCats Membership Open
Aledo Children's AdvoCats is proud to partner with AISD in helping students and families. Because of supporters throughout the district, we have been able to help fulfill unmet needs and aid children and families in Aledo ISD communities since 2002. It is our goal to not only provide basic needs but also provide students with the opportunity to participate in advanced academic courses and pursue post-secondary education.
Through our partnership with Aledo ISD, during the 2022-2023 school year, generous financial contributions and volunteer efforts have enabled us to provide qualified students and families with financial assistance for needs such as medical, dental, and vision expenses, counseling, career, and technical education courses, living expenses, clothing needs, and crisis intervention. Last year, nearly 600 children received $81,000 worth of assistance, 574 children were sponsored through the Angel Project, food cards were given at Thanksgiving and Christmas totalling over $25,000, and $21,000 in scholarships were awarded. We also provided $43,332 worth of clothing through our resale boutique, the Clothes Closet.
