Emergency Cards - Annual Update Required
New parents and parents without accounts will get an email from the district with their account set up info on Friday, 8/6 at 4pm. If you have misplaced your account access information, you can call the LHS office on/after Monday, 8/9 between 8am-3pm (916 645 6360) for support.
Students will not be able to pick up their schedule, chromebook or textbooks until their online paperwork is complete. If you do not have access to a computer at home, come to the office the week of 8/9 or the week of 8/16 (during materials pick up!) and we can arrange for you to complete the forms on one of our computers.
If for some reason, you are absolutely unable to complete the forms online before school starts, schedules will be visible on Schoology and in PowerSchool on Wed., 8/18 at 3pm so students know where to report to class.
Stay tuned for more information! (updated 7/23/21)

LHS Student Handbook
There is a 'clickable' table of contents that should make it easier to navigate. Please review the handbook so you know what to expect at LHS. For returning Zebras, there have been policy updates in the locker, dance policy and dress code sections that are worth noting, too! (added 8/14)

Our counselors will NOT be available on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to meet with students or parents about schedule changes. If a student requires a schedule change, please use this link. Please note that:
- The form is open until 9/1
- Changing your schedule is a request, not a guarantee.
- Schedule changes are subject to availability and the rearrangement of your schedule.
- Requests for specific teachers or a certain order of classes CANNOT be accommodated.
- All changes require parent/guardian permission.
Overview of the First Two Days!
On Thursday, you'll attend periods 1, 3, 5 and 7 and on Friday, you'll attend periods 2, 4, 6 and 8. You will meet your teachers, get a sense of the year, and to work on building relationships with teachers and classmates. You do not need to bring anything to school the first two days other than lunch for Thursday.
On Thursday, 8/19, you will go to your Advisory class to start the day - it's called "Advisory" on your schedule, but we've renamed it HERD TIME internally! :) (updated 8/14)
Purchasing PE Clothes
Our PE department sells:
- LHS PE dry fit shirt and shorts set - $30 for the set
- LHS PE cotton shirts - sold at a discount; limited supply available
Students also have the choice to bring their own PE clothes from home; the shorts must be solid black and the t-shirt must be solid royal blue. (updated 8/15)
For the cooler months, sweatshirts and sweatpants are optional and may be of any color.
Our PE team will be selling PE clothes on Monday, 8/16 from 8-10am and 1-3pm in the foyer of the new/big gym (Pence Gym). PE clothes can be purchased with cash or check (payable to LHS). Students can also buy PE clothes directly from their teacher in the first few days of the school year with cash or check. Student will start dressing out for PE on Wednesday, 8/25. (added 7/27)
COVID Update
AB 104
More information about this, along with the form used to request a grade adjustment will be coming out from WPUSD on/around August 16th. There is a 15 day window established by the state to submit a change request to the school. Be watching for an email from the district via ParentSquare with the details. (added 8/4/21)
Schedules & Lunch
You can find our bell schedules and odd/even schedules online here!
Also, we WILL be serving lunch on campus. The plan is to offer a hot lunch, grab and go lunch, and ala cart options. The best news is that many of these options will be FREE for all students this year. More info about lunch is coming in the coming weeks! Juniors and Seniors will have off campus lunch privileges if they meet the criteria - they can pick up a off campus lunch permission slip request form when they take their school picture and at schedule pick up! (update 8/14)
Drop off and Pick Up
First Home Game
Also - we are in the running for "Game of Week" with KCRA - vote for LHS v. Del Oro here!
We are very hopeful that we'll be able to run the game with spectators and without masks or social distancing being required. If that changes, we'll be sure to let you know! (added 8/11)

Quarter One, 2021 Probationary Athletics Policy
We recognize that the 2020-21 school year was challenging for most students. Across our school, grades were significantly lower than normal. As a result, LHS and TBHS plan to institute a one quarter probationary period for student athletes for the first quarter of 2021 only.
Who does this apply to: Students who plan to play sports in quarter 1 (Q1) of 2021 (cheer, dance, football, girls volleyball, girls golf, girls tennis or cross country)
REMINDER: Students - if you are struggling with your grades, you are encouraged to work with your teacher to catch up on work and/or to participate in our LHS tutoring program for support with homework or test preparation.
