KEEPING YOU CONNECTED...

Dear Parent/Guardian,

The GPISD Family is exactly that – Family.

In response to the devastating impact Hurricane and Tropical Storm Harvey has had on our staff, students and community, thank you for your support and prayers during this difficult time.

As we work to recover from the impact of Harvey and return to a sense of normalcy, it would be easy to overlook the outstanding students, community members, and employees in Galena Park ISD. We appreciate the community coming together to help and are blessed to live in such a great community!

The Galena Park Independent School District values our students and parents. You are an essential piece to our puzzle and we look forward to serving you.

As a District, we will share reminders, updates and successes monthly to keep you connected.

Thank you for taking the time to stay connected!

Mrs. Youens was one of 15 honorees selected from the entire state of Texas to be honored with this prestigious volunteer award. She received a plaque recognizing her service to North Shore Elementary. Her name is also engraved on a plaque that is permanently displayed at the Texas Education Agency.

Mrs. Youens is the second member of her family to earn the Heroes for Children award, as her late husband, Alfred, received the award last year.
