Welcome to Scarborough High School
Our Vision
To create an environment where parents want to send their children, students want to learn, teachers want to teach, and employees want to work.
Our Mission
Our academic mission is to develop our students with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each student moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.
A Message from Principal Rincon:
Spartan Families,
We are mid week and happy to report that Scarborough High School has had a successful start to the school year! Our students have done a great job finding their classes, being in uniform, and following our new schedule and school hours. Some parents are not receiving the call outs, and missed important information prior to the beginning of the school year. Here is a review of pertinent information:
- There is a new uniform policy at Scarborough. Our campus SDMC met several times during the school year to review this revision. See below for more information.
- New school hours: 8:25 am - 4:30 pm. Make sure students arrive to school on time. Students that arrive at 9:00 am will require a parent to come inside the office and sign them in.
- No cell phones, headphones, air pods, or electronic devices during the school day. They are permitted before school, during lunch, and after school only. Not during passing periods. If these devices are visible in the classroom or the hallways, they will be collected and parents will have to come pick them up.
- Classes will have A/B days. On A days, students will visit periods 1-5. On B days, students will visit periods 1-6.
- Students are required to wear their student ID at all times.
- Students will not have to pay the laptop fee of $25 this year.
We know this year will look a bit different, but we are confident that our students will receive the high quality learning experience that they deserve. We are proud of our Spartans and look forward to partnering with you.
Open House: Wednesday, September 13th, 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Come meet your child’s teacher, follow their schedule, and learn about the expectations that are required for promotion and graduation.
2023-2024 Academic Calendar
Student Bell Schedule
Attendance Matters
The school's cafeteria is open at 7:30 a.m. for early arrivals. At 8:00 a.m., students may remain in the cafeteria or congregate in designated areas determined by campus administrators.
Classes begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Students must be dropped off by 8:25 a.m. Students who arrive after 9 am, must be signed in by a parent/guardian in the Main Office.
Students should arrive at all classes on time. Students who are in the hallway after the bell has rung may be marked absent and are subject to additional consequences.
Students may not miss more that 10% of the instructional days each semester. Missing more than 10% of instructional days will result in students losing credit resulting in an "NG."
Student Schedule Changes
Students can request a schedule change starting Wednesday, August 30th.
A Schedule Change Request Form can be picked up in the cafeteria during lunch and turned in the main office.
Grading Cycle 1 : August 28th - October 2nd
Progress Reports go home October 26.

The purpose of this Code of Student Conduct is to inform all students and parents of their rights and responsibilities and HISD’s expectations regarding behavior and conduct. The Code, reviewed and approved by the HISD Board of Education, is based on federal and state laws and the policies of the Board of Education and Administrative Regulations. Administrative regulations communicate District procedures and practices in the contexts of Board policy, federal law, and state law.
