DID YOU KNOW?
AP Environmental Science is a course currently offered at Strongsville High School. Mrs. Maher's students are learning to have a "global" perspective, one of the competencies of our District's 'Model Mustang.'
Mrs. Maher says, "AP Environmental Science has given my students the opportunity to understand the global impact of local and regional human activities. I think the most impactful thing my students take away from this class is an awareness of the interrelationships among the natural world, our place in it, and the opportunity to make sustainable choices."
Check out this "60 Seconds with the Superintendent" episode from earlier this year about the impact Mrs. Maher's AP Environmental Science class is having on her students. #WeAreStrongsville #TheModelMustang

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MS. NICOLE MORRIS, KINDERGARTEN TEACHER AT WHITNEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Ms. Nicole Morris is finishing her 1st year of teaching in our District. Ms. Morris is a kindergarten teacher at Whitney Elementary. She earned her undergraduate degree from John Carroll University. Ms. Morris is also the 8th grade volleyball coach at Strongsville Middle School.
“Kindergarten is such a special time in a child’s life and I feel so lucky that I am the person that gets to spend every day with my students. It is so much fun to see the growth my students undergo from the beginning of the year, to the end of the year. They have such a strong love of learning, and their little minds amaze me every single day. There are too many things I love about working with my students, but one of my favorites is the “aha moments.” It is when a student realizes they can read, and their face lights up with excitement. They smile from ear to ear and beam with pride. Also, the close relationships that I build with my students are absolutely priceless. We share so many laughs and memories together. We truly become a classroom family that trusts and cares about one another,” sais Ms. Morris.
“I could not ask for a better place to be than Whitney. Being my first year in the district, everyone has been so kind, helpful, and welcoming. Every day I have the opportunity to work with dedicated teachers who always put their students first. Not a day goes by that I do not see a teacher go above and beyond for their students. I love collaborating with my Kindergarten team, who have become my second family. We are always there to support each other, and work through anything that comes our way together.”
Thank you Ms. Morris for helping the students at Whitney build a strong foundation as they begin their educational journey at Strongsville City Schools! #WeAreStrongsville

This presentation will explore the impact that advances in transportation have had on the city, its landscape, and its built environment. This is a free program open to the public. The Strongsville Historical Society and Historic Village invites you to become a member by calling 440-572-0057. Family, corporate, student, senior and individual memberships are available.
