Better Together

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

It's been another fun week at Wiggin Street! Math-a-thon rewards continue, and the highlight was the Six Miles to Nellie concert yesterday. We appreciate the band coming to play for the kids and sharing their instruments. I'm sure a lot of students went home wanting to play an instrument or be in a band one day. We also appreciate McDonald's hosting students that arrived on the Party Bus and the MVNU Pep Band that shared about their instruments and performed.

Next week, some students will experience an Escape Room, we will welcome the Stairwells Kenyon group, and some students will try their hand at the Cash Machine. That will be the finale to another amazing Math-a-thon. Thanks again to Ms. Waugh for all her efforts to plan another fun, musical Math-a-thon!

Mrs. Eilbacher's and Mrs. Croswell's classes participated in a dance collaboration with the Kenyon College Dance Program this month. They used a variety of basic movement concepts to use dance as a vehicle for learning about content. Students were given the opportunity to choreograph a dance and performed on February 10th at the Knox Memorial Theater with Mrs. Croswell. It was a multi-generational community performance, "Dancing Together: Resilience and Community" and was sponsored by Kenyon College Office of Community Partnerships, Kenyon College Dance Enrichment Fund, OSU College of Arts and Sciences Dean of Arts and Humanities Engagement. We are so proud of the group of students that chose to perform, and the dance can be viewed here.

Winter Weather

Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.
