THE KNIGHTLY NEWS
GROWING TOGETHER
AUGUST 18, 2023
NEWS FROM DR. COOPER
Dear Families,
Our theme for the year is "Growing Together" and students have been busy during our first full week of school growing their knowledge of routines and procedures in their classrooms. We also practiced our safety drills school-wide. My favorite part of the week has been joining classrooms for their morning meeting where they intentionally work on building their classroom community. I encourage you to ask your child what they've been doing during morning meeting time this week.
Stay cool this weekend,
Dr. Tara Cooper___________________________

You also have the option of paying by credit/debit card. Parents may access Schoolpay by going directly to www.schoolpay.com or by clicking the “Pay Fees” button on the Fees screen in the Synergy ParentVue Application. If you click the button in ParentVue and are NOT yet registered in Schoolpay, it will take you through that process. NOTE: Online credit card transactions have a convenience fee that will be added to your total.
If you have any questions, please contact the school secretary, Kathy Svoboda at 402-715-8360 or by email at kasvoboda@mpsomaha.org.

FIRST ANNUAL MPS CHILDREN'S CHOICE BOOK AWARD NOMINEE LIST
We are excited to announce the First Annual MPS Children's Choice Book Award Nominee List. Our teacher librarians and other Millard staff who know our students’ interests so well have selected 10 books that they think our students will love. We will be sharing these books with students, hosting a Millard Book Award competition, and using these books for our annual Quiz Bowl.
In addition, we are asking our students to help name this new award. Our teacher librarian will be sharing more information about this contest with our students. The new name will be unveiled in May along with the winner of the first annual Millard Public Schools Elementary Book Award.
