Tools For Schools - Back To School Event
Tools For Schools
On August 30 all staff will gather at Royal Oak High School for a morning of information, presentations, food, fun, and camaraderie.
In the morning you can expect hot and cold breakfast choices served in the Royal Oak High School cafeteria. You'll even get to go through the "lunch line" and experience being a student again.
There's a lot planned for you before the learning begins at 8:30 AM.
From 7:30 - 8:20, you can not only visit with fellow co-workers, but you can also visit the "Tools For Schools" Market. Multiple community partners will be at tables with information and giveaways for all staff. And, look for Amy Murphy at the District Communications table where she will have giveaways from some of our vendors like School Messenger, Peachjar, and Smore. She will also have a chance for all employees to win prizes.
At 8:20, the market closes, and all staff report to the cafeteria or the auditorium for the morning session.
- ROHS Cafeteria - All Elementary Schools, ECC, Food Service
- Auditorium- ROHS, ROMS, MTC & Transportation, Churchill, Board Office, IT
During the session, you'll listen to presentations from our Superintendent of Schools, many of the Administrative Team members, updates on current construction projects, COVID-19 protocols, the latest on DEI and the JEDI Team, and a presentation on school safety plans and response, including new safety features like Nightlock and Go Bags.
The afternoon will be about professional development (PD) for all staff in their buildings. For your specific schedule, see your principal or department chair.
Communications Corner
Communications Survey
Communicating information with our families and students is very important to us.
In order to meet their needs, we are asking that you take a moment and answer a few questions about messages and which platforms you use.
We appreciate this feedback.
We will also be sending out a similar survey to families for their feedback.
Reminder Regarding Peachjar
Peachjar is Royal Oak Schools flyer distribution system, implemented to reduce the environmental impact and cost of printing flyers. External organizations can share information with ROS families as long as the proposal adheres to the flyer approval guidelines. Peachjar’s platform streamlines school-to-home communication by distributing valuable school and community resources directly to families as digital flyers.
No More Paper Flyers!

Self-Service Password Manager 🔑
Self-Service Password Manager allows you to recover a forgotten password or change your password without having to contact the Service Desk. The Service Desk can no longer change or reset passwords over the phone.
All staff should enroll in this service to avoid disruptions in your account access.
To enroll, visit http://password.oakland.k12.mi.us/ and log in with your school email and password. Click here for step-by-step instructions.
Note: Current research supports the use of a 12+ character passphrase, which is a sentence-like string of words, such as TheQueenWearsAGoldCrown. Passphrases are easy for you to remember but difficult for computers to crack, making them more secure than a standard password. If you have not yet updated your password to a 12+ character passphrase, please visit the Self-Service Password Manager.
Wishing a happy day to our September birthdays! 🎁🎈
