Corbett Grade School
May 2022
Corbett Grade School Principal, Michelle Dawkins
Dear Families,
This month we begin by celebrating our teachers and staff at Corbett Grade School. These incredible people have been instrumental in making this school year a success for our students. Our teachers and staff are the best of the best. They inspire the joy of learning, provide opportunities for our students to develop friendships, and work diligently to build school community all year long. Our students are stronger for the challenges they have faced this year.
To wrap up the year, I would like to invite our families to participate in a ThoughtExchange. The exchange will be open until Friday, May 27, at 3pm. Here is the link to the ThoughtExchange: https://tejoin.com/scroll/461475053

Collecting Coins to Help Others
The students at Corbett Grade School were able to raise $1,566.40 to aid Ukrainian refugees in Poland just by cleaning out their change jars! This fundraiser was led by Teachers James McDermott and Becky Young. All of the money raised will be donated to Salam Lab, the Laboratory of Peace, in Krakow, Poland. Here is their website, in case you would like to learn more: Salam Lab, Laboratory of Peace
Mr. McDermott will be moving to Poland this summer with his wife and son. Our plan at Corbett Grade School will be to continue to exchange information with Mr. McDermott and continue to support and help the refugees when and where we can.
CORBETT PTA
The last month of school is upon us! The PTA wants to say GREAT JOB!! The last two years have been challenging and this year has been one of acclimation and change. Staff and students have done a great job with these challenges. The PTA looks forward to celebrating this month with Teacher Appreciation Week, Community Literacy Night, and Field Day on the last day of school!
Teacher Appreciation will be during the week of May 2 through May 5. The PTA has some fun events to celebrate and thank the staff for all their hard work! We will be having a lunch, basket raffle, and other fun daily treats!
