No School on June 19th
Juneteenth recognizes the historical pronouncement of the abolition of slavery on June 19, 1865, when the Emancipation Proclamation was said to have been first publicly read in Texas by Union soldiers - the last state to do so.
- District 196 established Juneteenth (June 19) as a District Holiday earlier this year at a School Board Meeting.
- The State of Minnesota passed legislation this year that established Juneteenth as a State Holiday.
An end of legislative session amendment applied the change immediately, impacting current school year operations. Minnesota school districts received notice of this change on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, and the MDE advised that schools cannot hold classes or programs, school board meetings, athletic practices and competitions, and other school-associated events.
District 196 does NOT have summer school/credit recovery on June 19th, but it has come to our attention that some camps, practices, and Community Ed programming will need to be cancelled or rescheduled.
Summer Building Hours
The Eagan High School Main Office and Registrar's Office will be open Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM.
We will be closed on June 19th to recognize the pronouncement of the abolition of slavery.
We will be closed on Monday & Tuesday, July 3 & 4 for the Independence Day Holiday.
Have a great summer!

Event for Eagan Youth Golfers
The Eagan golf teams host an event each year at Inver Wood for youth golfers. You must be 10-14 years old wanting to learn a little more about golf or looking for some more competition. All levels of experience are welcome, but the player will need his/her own clubs. The kids play on the executive course (9 holes) in a shotgun format with a Wildcat celebrity (Eagan varsity player) in each group. The event is coming up on Tuesday, June 20th at 10 am. When kids arrive between 9-9:30 we have games setup for them to play for valuable prizes (starbursts). Each player is fed lunch and leaves with door prizes and possibly medals for performance. We would love you to spread the word or sign up your 10-14 year old. You can sign up today by going to www.eaganboysgolf.com/ or scan the QR code above on the advertisement.

Students who have graduated or left the school district may leave unused dollars in their District 196 Nutrition Services meal account. The Nutrition Services department seeks to ensure that parents/guardians are aware of these fund balances and can decide how they want to use these funds.
There are three options from which to choose.
- Donate funds to the Angel Account, used to help pay for students in need.
- Transfer unused funds to a sibling’s District 196 Nutrition Services account.
- Request a check refund for the remaining balance.

We are experiencing concerns with damage to restrooms - especially boys restrooms. When that happens the restroom has to be closed for cleaning/repair and that makes it unavailable for student use for a period of time. Please report, using this anonymous method, the information about this problem. Thanks!
