WMS Weekly Warrior
September 4, 2023
Good afternoon, Woodbury Middle School community,
We hope you enjoyed the extended weekend. We have completed our first week of school and are excited to share how well everything has begun. Most students have adjusted to their schedules and are transitioning smoothly to their new classes. Our teachers have been working hard to get to know their students and build positive relationships with them. In every class, we have emphasized our core values—the Warrior Way—and how these values are reflected in every aspect of our school.
For all the latest updates and information about WMS, check out the Weekly Warrior. It is sent out every Monday at 4:00. I follow my school district's Facebook and Instagram pages where I live. Still, I have noticed that some parents ask questions on social media instead of contacting the school directly. While I understand the convenience of using social media, I want to remind everyone that contacting the school directly is the most accurate and reliable way to get information. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Fall sports practices are already in full swing, and we can't wait to see our students shine on the field. However, we are watching the weather forecast for next week as we might be in for some warm temperatures. We want to remind our students to stay hydrated by bringing refillable water bottles to school and practices. If the heat becomes an issue, we will have designated areas to address rooms that are too warm. Our administrators, teachers, and coaches will closely monitor the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students.
Thank you to everyone for doing their best to attend school on time. Students need to start their day positively, which includes being on time and prepared to start the day. It really makes a difference.
After school, many students walk to the library, the park, or a friend's house. However, for safety reasons, students who plan on walking must sign out in the cafeteria before leaving school grounds. If you do not permit your student to walk off campus after school, please email Mrs. Effes in the office (keffes@ctreg14.org) stating that you do not give permission. If we do not receive any notice, it will be assumed that your student has permission to walk. It is advised that all walkers should always walk with a friend and never be alone.
