FREE SUMMER MEALS FOR CHILDREN

The Galena Park Independent School District is sponsoring the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Summer Food Service Program which provides Free Breakfasts and Free Lunches to all children 18 years of age and younger. Click on the link below for serving sites, dates and times:

FIREWORKS SAFETY

Keep your family safe.

  • Fireworks can result in severe burns, blindness, scars, and even death.
  • Fireworks that are often thought to be safe, such as sparklers, can reach temperatures above 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, and can burn users and bystanders.
  • Families are encouraged to attend community fireworks displays run by professionals rather than using fireworks at home.

A MESSAGE FROM GALENA PARK ISD'S COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS DEPARTMENT

Summer shouldn't mean taking a break from learning, especially reading. Studies show that most students experience a loss of reading skills over the summer months, but children who continue to read will gain skills. The following resources will allow your child to discover fun activities to encourage them to learn, read and have fun in the summer sun!

Phase 1 is continuing to move along. Four groundbreaking ceremonies have already taken place Galena Park Elementary-May 16th, North Shore Elementary-May 23rd, North Shore 10-June 8th, and Woodland Acres Elementary-Jun 27th. Construction of these first four projects is underway!
