Celebrate National School Choice Week!
Did you know that next week is National School Choice Week?
On Tuesday, January 23rd, members of our Insight PA Communications Department will travel to Harrisburg to participate in the National School Choice Week (NSCW) Rally at the PA State Capitol. In addition, we would like to celebrate the choice that our families have made to enroll at Insight PA.
We are asking Insight PA students, learning coaches, and staff members to fill out one of two NSCW signs and share photos of their personalized signs with us. These signs can be downloaded and printed through the Google Form linked below. We will be highlighting the responses we receive on our social media accounts and in our next school wide newsletter.
All students, learning coaches, and staff members who participate will be entered into drawings to receive an item of their choice (up to $35) from our Insight PA School Store. Please complete this Google Form by the end of the school day on Wednesday, January 24th, to be entered into these drawings!
Please note that submitted photos may be shared on our Insight PA social media accounts, YouTube channel, website, and in our school newsletters. Photos will not be used for purposes other than this project unless the Director of Communications has reached out to you to request additional permission. Only first names and last initials will be used for students and learning coaches.
Looking Ahead: Black History Month
In February, we will celebrate Black History Month. We encourage you to keep an eye on our Facebook page all month long as we share information and resources including links to virtual exhibits, videos, and virtual events that are happening throughout the month.
Civic Stories: Four Harriets of History
On Friday, February 2nd, The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia will be presenting a virtual event called "Civic Stories: Four Harriets of History" at 12:00pm.
During this virtual Zoom event, participants will explore the lives of four American women - Harriet Robinson Scott, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Jacobs, and Harriet Beecher Stowe - who confronted slavery through literature, lawsuits, and direct action in their efforts to free themselves and others from bondage. Use the link below to register!

Insight PA Cyber Charter School is seeking additional members for our Community Advisory Council. This group of volunteers meets with the Insight PA Manager of Communications and members of the school leadership team throughout the school year to provide input and feedback on school programs, policies, and issues. In addition, members are asked to serve as liaisons between the school and Insight PA parents, guardians, and learning coaches in their respective regions.
Any Insight PA parents, guardians, and learning coaches who are interested in becoming a part of this group are invited to learn more and apply using the button links below. If you have any questions, contact our Director of Communications at sstell@insightpa.org.

Focus on Federal Programs
What is Title I?
Title I, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), is a federal program that provides financial assistance to schools. This funding is used to provide additional academic support and learning opportunities for students at schools with high percentages of economically disadvantaged children. The program is intended to help ensure that all students meet or exceed challenging state academic standards.
The goals of Title I are to:
- Increase academic achievement
- Provide direct instructional support to students
- Provide professional development for teachers
- Promote parent and family education and engagement
Parent and Family Engagement
Insight PA believes that Parent and Family Engagement is of paramount importance to student success. Every Title I school, in collaboration with parents, must prepare a school level Parent and Family Engagement policy. The Parent and Family Engagement Policy describes how the school will involve families in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in the planning, review, and improvement of the Title I program at their school.
Right to Know
This letter lets you know about your right to request information about the qualifications of classroom staff working with your child and information about student assessments given during the school year.
*Visit our Federal Programs page to learn more or use the links below to view our Title I documents for the 2023 - 2024 school year, available in English, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. If you have suggestions, questions, or concerns about any of the Federal Programs at Insight PA, please contact Johanna Best, Director of Reporting and Compliance at jbest@insightpa.org.
