A Message From Principal Smith
Dear Riverwood Parents,
Recently in SSS (Student Success Skills) we introduced our students to a fun and purposeful goal-setting activity to help students take ownership of their grades and attendance in an interactive, measurable way.
Students completed a form to help guide them in this activity and to give them a visual tracking tool for their progress throughout the semester.
We began the activity by asking students to look at their current grades and attendance and to create fall semester goals that they're excited about.
Whether a student is striving to pass all his/ her classes or to move from the Honor Roll to the Principal's List, our teachers and administration are here to support them every step of the way.
Teachers will revisit this worksheet with their students monthly to make sure that they are on track and to provide additional support as needed.
This is a great time for you to check in with your students to review their goals. We encourage you to learn about the many free, effective tutoring options (including teacher tutorials) available to our students here: https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/27925
We are confident that with your support, our students will meet and exceed their goals!
Please remember that Tuesday, November 7 is a remote learning ‘A. Students should receive their assignments for that day tomorrow, November 3, in their ‘A’ day classes.
Sincerely,
Kindra Smith

College Representatives Coming to Riverwood!
Starting August 21 and throughout the fall, college representatives will be visiting Riverwood to meet with students. Juniors and seniors can register for college representative visits by accessing the list of scheduled visits in Naviance.
Once registered for a visit they need to stop by the College/Career Center to obtain a lime green College Visit Pass. This pass must be signed by the teacher or teacher(s) of any class that the student will miss to attend the college information session and should be signed at least 2 school days prior to the scheduled visit. At the time of the event, the green pass will act as a pass for student to be able to leave class and attend the event. If you need assistance with understanding or registering for college visits, please contact Roxie Garber garber@fultonschools.org.
We Need Your Student's Phone Number!
Help us improve school communication to keep your student in the know!
Our school is committed to improving student communication, and we have an exciting plan to achieve this goal. We will be utilizing Fulton County Schools' Blackboard communication system to send real-time text updates about events and activities directly to our Riverwood students. Parents will also receive these updates, which means that everyone will be in the loop. To ensure the success of this initiative, we kindly request parents to update their child's cell phone number in Infinite Campus.
Please update your child's cell phone information in Infinite Campus as soon as possible. With this new system in place, we are confident that our students will be better informed and more connected than ever before.
If you have updated your family's cell phone numbers in Infinite Campus and aren't receiving texts, we can help. Please complete this form to help us troubleshoot for you.
