Message from the President.
Dear Members of SC ACTE:
I am honored to extend my warmest welcome to every one of you as the President of our esteemed association. I want to acknowledge and confirm the significant contributions that educators like yourselves make in shaping the future of our students.
In classrooms across our state, you have dedicated your time, expertise, and passion to equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the ever-evolving world of Career and Technical Education (CTE). Your commitment to providing a quality education that prepares our students for successful careers is commendable.
I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of continued support and membership in our association. By joining forces and working collaboratively, we can ensure that CTE remains at the forefront of educational innovation and excellence. Together, we have the power to advocate for the resources, policies, and opportunities necessary to empower our students and elevate the field of CTE.
I challenge each of you to embrace the spirit of innovation and participation in your dedication to CTE. Let us continuously strive to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences that bridge the gap between the classroom and the professional world. By fostering an environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning, we can empower our students to become the next generation of industry leaders.
Furthermore, I want to emphasize the importance of continuous collaborative communication and support. As educators, we must remain connected and share best practices, ideas, and resources to enhance the quality of education we provide. Let us embrace a culture of collaboration, where we uplift and inspire one another to reach new heights.
In conclusion, I extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your unwavering dedication to the field of CTE. Together, we have the power to shape the future of our students and transform their lives. I urge you to continue your support and membership in our association, as we embark on this journey of innovation and excellence.
Thank you for being champions of education and advocates for our students. Let us forge ahead, Preparing our students today, for their future.
Warmest regards,
Lonnie McRavin

Army and SC ACTE future Partnership!
Many high schools across the state have a Career and Technical Education (CTE) component to them. The Army would like to partner with these schools to discuss the many civil service opportunities aligned with CTE career fields like its Army Civilian Acquired Skills Program (ACASP) which allows young men and women to enlist in the Army at a higher pay grade in certain trade occupations. We has multiple job opportunities and training from culinary arts to IT, mechanical, and nursing both full- and part-time. For instances, students who enlist in the Army reserves (part-time), train, acquire leadership skills and return home with training and experience that positions them for a better paying job. As a reservist not only to students continuing to serve their country in a part-time status they can further expand their trade by utilizing their education benefits via tuition assistance, Post 9-11 GI bill, credentialing and much more.
If you are interested in learning more about these or other educational services available free of charged to schools and students, contact your state Education Services Specialist, Shantelle James, at Shantelle.n.james.civ@army.mil or (803) 904-0437, to learn more.
