The annual meeting of the South Carolina Association for Career and Technical Education will be held on Monday, June 23rd at 2:30 PM during the S.C. Education + Business Summit at the Greenville Convention Center. During this meeting, the SCACTE Annual Awards will be presented, as well as the nomination and election of our officers. This year’s meeting is especially important because there will be a vote to amend our by-laws to allow for unification with ACTE.

Unification will allow for continued growth for SCACTE by giving us access to tools for improved membership processing, improved communication for our membership, and an improved, functional website. It will benefit our membership by providing opportunities to stay informed with developments in CTE; expand their CTE knowledge; amplify their voices through advocacy; and provide protection with accidental and death insurance. SCACTE membership will still provide liability insurance. Our neighboring state associations have benefited greatly with this affiliation.

Our end goal is to free SCACTE of time consuming duties and expenses, like membership processing and fees, in order to focus on providing membership benefits like webinars and professional development opportunities. Our SCACTE membership dues will be decreased with the ACTE/SCACTE affiliation dues being $125 instead of the current $145 combined dues.
