BRAHMA BULL-etin!
Sunday the 19th through Saturday the 25th
"You're off to great places. Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So ... get on your way." - Dr. Seuss, "Oh, The Places You'll Go"
Greeting Brahma Nation,
It was another wonderful week at The Ranch filled with celebrations, events, and hard work. Some of our highlights and successes from this week include, Ryan and Rylie finishing as bronze medalist at the State Tennis Tournament, Isabel and Alexandra both finished in the top 6 at UIL Ready Writing, Bailey being named to the SA Express News 5A All Area Girls Soccer Team, our boys baseball players bringing home numerous All District awards, another successful AP testing week, just to name a few.
I am proud of our students, staff, and community for their continued efforts to make Mac the very best!
First, the SENIORS, the end of an era is near, which can only mean the beginning of another is upon us. For those of you who have reached the milestone that is graduation, congratulations! We are but 7 short days from the capstone that is the culmination of 12+ years of studying, learning, living and making memories. Since the first day you stepped foot inside a classroom, whether it was pre-K, Kinder or First Grade, you have been on an almost repetitive journey; first day of school, classes, sports, concerts, exams, last day of school, summer, repeat. The plan and how your school success was defined will end Sunday, May 26th.
Seniors, it is now your turn to choose and define what success means to you. Now, others will try to define it for you, but yours is the only voice that matters, and your parents. Your parents voice matters too. They are probably still paying for this adventure we call life. 🤘🏽
Important information regarding the Graduation ceremony: On Sunday, May 26, MacArthur will hold its graduation. It begins at 9:30 AM at the Alamodome. Graduates should be at the Alamodome by 8:30 AM. Parking is $10 per car - No cash. Park in Lot B or Lot C.
Seniors, do not decorate your caps or gowns, if you do, you will either have to exchange them or you won't participate in the ceremony. The opportunity to exchange caps and gowns depends on if there are extras. You can only wear cords and stoles that are on the District approved list; National Honor Society, Honor Cord, Dual Language, Dual Credit, On-Ramps, and NEISD Magnet Programs. The assistant principals will be checking each graduate when they line up for compliance. The NEISD graduation expectations are consistent across all the NEISD high schools, Mac is no different.
Entrance to the Dome includes metal detectors and bag searches. Families should not bring balloons, banners, noisemakers, or similar. The Alamodome staff will confiscate these items at the entrance. Phones are not allowed on the graduation floor. Graduates who bring a phone into the Dome will have to place it in a holding bin until the end of the ceremony.
Walking across the stage, students are expected to maintain the appropriate decorum. Any behavior that is not what was discussed at rehearsals could result in the graduate not returning to the floor after crossing the stage and will miss the end of the ceremony, turning of the tassel and throwing the cap. This includes hand signs, such as Hook 'em Horns, Gig 'em, etc.
NOTE: If you are graduating in the summer, you cannot walk the stage in May. There will be a summer graduation ceremony.

Now, everyone else,
- Finals are the last week of school, Tuesday the 28th through Friday the 31st. Thursday and Friday will be early release days. School will end at 2:00 PM. Please plan accordingly.
- On or before the last day of school, please pick up your child's medication. Medication can NOT be sent home with your child. There are no exceptions to this procedure. Any medication not picked up by the last day of school will be properly disposed of by Health Services. If you need to make other arrangements, please contact the school nurse.
- Please turn in your textbooks and Chromebooks. The Chromebooks should be returned with their chargers to Mr. Moczygemba by the last day of school.
- PARENTS: If your child has an appointment to get their driver's license before the end of summer, they will need to have a VERIFICATION OF ENROLLMENT (VOE) letter from campus to complete their required paperwork for TDL. You may send an email request to Sonya Montano anytime from May 31 through June 14 at smonta@neisd.net. The document will be valid through the end of summer.
- If you need summer school, the flyer is farther along in this newsletter. Summer school this year is at Madison High School. Make sure you talk to your counselor or AP ASAP about your options and your needs.
Have a great last, or second to last, week of the 23-24 school year!

📣 Shout Outs 📣
MacArthur Student Athletic Trainers
The MacArthur Student Athletic Trainer program was just named the Alamo Area Athletic Trainers Association (AAATA) Student Athletic Training Program of the Year. We were nominated by other area Athletic Trainers and won the Program of the Month award which put us in the running for the overall program.
Rylie Marafioto, Senior | KSAT Scholar Athlete of the Week
Isabel Cortes and Alexandra Moss, Seniors | UIL State Ready Writing
They did it! Isabel "Kibo" Cortes and Alexandra "Alli" Moss are UIL State Ready Writing Champs! Kibo placed 5th while Allie placed 6th! This is awesome since Ready Writing is considered one of the most challenging of the UIL Academic competitions and only 6 medals are awarded in State Competition, two were awarded to MacArthur!

NEISD Online Ticketing Platform Change
The system that NEISD uses for our online athletic ticket sales is changing a bit, and the old app will be going away. Next week on February 28th the original Ticket Spicket App will be decommissioned. Hometown Ticketing has merged with Ticket Spicket, so this is part of the conversion. If you are an avid NEISD athletics supporter and regularly attend events, please make sure to download the "HomeTown Fan App" on iOS or Android.
You can also visit www.events.hometownticketing.com to search, purchase and manage all of your tickets and passes. There are helpful links and attachments to walk through the process.
As always, thank you for always supporting our athletes, coaches and the overall athletic program.
