We still have 119 Families that have not completed the 2020-2021 Annual Update Form when registering their student for this current school year. We have separately sent a ParentLink email to directly all of these families.

The form can be found by clicking THIS LINK. Click the red box "Annual Student Registration Update Form" and log in with your HAC credentials. BE SURE TO CLICK SUBMIT WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE FORM. If you have more than one student, you can toggle between your students at the upper right side of the form.

Our partners at Riverview Counseling provide videos for our families each month. This month's video resonates as we think about self-compassion in a world that can be very critical. I thought you might enjoy watching these videos.

Each year we send out the Illinois 5-Essentials Survey to gather input from parents and guardians, staff, and students about how we are doing here at WMS. We use the data we gather to improve communication, find ways to engage students at a higher level and improve student learning.

I am hoping you can take 7-10 minutes to complete this survey for me. It is very simple to complete. And not only do we find the information valuable, but it is a required part of our ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Acts).

Wredling Middle School

The Wake Up Call presentation, a program of Your Choice, on February 2, 2021 provided practical information on current drug trends, a walk-through of a teens' bedroom with more than 20 red flags that could indicate substance abuse, and proactive parenting strategies to keep your child substance free.

The presenters, all with lived experience, combined their personal stories, experience working with students and families, and shared things they wish they would've known into an engaging, real and unique presentation. If you were not able to attend, please click on this link to view the presentation.

We have had a few parents ask us about what these will look like. Currently, we are planning that our awards celebration will be done virtually and sent out via video. We have not yet explored what other end-of-year celebrations may look like. As we get closer to that time, we will keep you up to date.

Families who wish to submit a Middle School Transfer request may do so beginning February 1, 2021. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want to be transferred. Requests are granted based on space available. This means that siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.

Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.

Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance area are responsible for their own transportation.

Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.

The Middle School Transfer request window will close at 4:00pm on February 26, 2021.

The IT device exchange takes place at the Haines building (305 South 9th Street), Door #2, between 12:00 - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday. You do not need to make an appointment.

You can check the attendance for any of your students at any time by logging into the Home Access Center and clicking on the attendance tab to view. Toggle between students using the arrow in the upper right hand corner.

All students have the opportunity to engage in optional learning experiences by visiting the D303 Remote Learning Resources page. There are a variety of learning experiences in the areas of math, digital citizenship, English Language Arts, college and career, virtual field trips, STEM, and social emotional learning. Students may engage in these experiences at any time.

Any current 7th grade students who are interested in going to Washington DC/New York City during spring break in 2022 should plan to attend an informational meeting with their parents via Zoom on March 4, 2021 at 7:00 PM.

It takes more adults to operate schools safely for students during the pandemic. District 303 currently has numerous job openings in a variety of job categories. If you are looking for temporary, part-time, or full-time employment, please visit the D303 Human Resources page to apply for a position.

One of the more flexible positions available is that of a D303 Substitute. You can choose to work, or not work, as your schedule permits. Take a moment and read the Substitute Handbook to see what this job entails.

If you are interested and hold a:

• Bachelor's degree in any field you would qualify to apply for a substitute license with the state which allows you to sub for teachers or teacher assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
• Associate's degree you apply for a Paraprofessional license which only allows you to sub for Teaching assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
• High School diploma you have to take an aptitude test with the KANE ROE office. Once you pass that, you apply for a Paraprofessional license which only allows you to sub for Teaching assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
