Dear Friends
March 18, 2021
Online kindergarten registration happening now
Kindergarten registration is happening at all Snohomish School District elementary schools. Online registration materials are available at www.sno.wednet.edu/kindergarten. We encourage families to utilize the online student enrollment and registration available at that site. Schools will reach out throughout summer 2021 with important information available for families (Meet the Teacher, WaKIDS, PTA/PTO/parent organizations, bus transportation, special services and more). For more information, please contact the elementary school your child will attend.
Secondary asynchronous learning Fridays
As we work to transition our middle and high school students back to in-person learning, we need to set aside a few days in coming weeks for planning, building and room setup, and teacher collaboration. The following Fridays – March 19, March 26 and April 2 – will be impacted. On these Fridays, all student learning will be conducted in an asynchronous mode and lessons/activities will be posted to student Canvas accounts. We appreciate your understanding as we work to bring our students and staff safely back for in-person learning.
The schedule for K-6 will not be impacted and will remain unchanged on the dates noted above.

Conference week
The week of Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2, which had been reserved as a tentative conference week, will remain a five-day school week. Instruction during the week will follow a teacher’s or student’s current school schedule. The following week, April 5-9, is Spring Break.
Standard conference times between parents/guardians and teachers will not be scheduled. As always, we encourage teachers, students and families to have discussions by phone, email or through Zoom to discuss any concerns, questions or situations that may arise.

Changes to meal distribution
It has been a pleasure to provide district students with delicious and nutritious meals throughout the past year. With the exciting re-opening of our schools and return of secondary students will cause our district’s Food Service Dept. to change its method of meal distribution for remote learners and community children.
Beginning Monday, March 22, students and parents will receive a text or email containing a Qualtrics survey similar to the health attestation survey that is used currently throughout the district. The survey will be open from 5:15-9 a.m., Monday through Thursday. This survey will allow parents/guardians to identify if their child(ren) would like to pick up lunch (and breakfast for the next day) for that day only. It will also allow parents/guardians to select from several designated schools for meal pick up.
- Cathcart Elementary - 12:25-12:45 p.m.
- Dutch Hill Elementary - 12:40-1 p.m.
- Emerson Elementary -12:30-12:50 p.m.
- Seattle Hill Elementary - 12:20-12:40 p.m.
- Machias Elementary – 1-1:20 p.m.
On Fridays, there will not be a Qualtrics survey. On Friday, meals will be available to any child age 0 to 18 per the USDA SFSP guidelines. Lunches (and breakfast for the next day) can be picked up at:
Centennial Middle School - 11-11:20 a.m.
Little Cedars Elementary - 12:05-12:25 p.m.
Boys & Girls Club - 11:30-11:50 a.m.
The pickup window at each of the above schools will be 20 minutes and will be located at the front entrance of each school. This survey must be completed each day to pick up meals.
SEF fundraising breakfast
Snohomish Education Foundation (SEF) Virtual Fundraising Breakfast will be held Friday, June 25 at 8 a.m. via Zoom. Register today at www.sef2021breakfast.eventbrite.com.

Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) returns
Get money for meals missed by students at school this school year. Did your child go to a K-12 school this school year that closed or had reduced hours due to the pandemic? Is your child eligible for free or reduced-price school meals? Then your child may be eligible for P-EBT this school year. P-EBT is money that can be used to buy food for your children.
Find out if your child is eligible and learn how to get P-EBT. Learn more at www.dshs.wa.gov/pebt or call the P-EBT Contact Center at 1-833-518-0282 with questions.
